You're absolutely right, I wasn't saying Favre isn't tough or hasn't been hit more than Manning. Just pointing out that Manning is tougher than he gets credit for. One of the very few things that Manning doesn't get credit.

I don't think he gets the credit because he's consistently had one of THE best offensive lines in football. He's rarely under pressure because of it. It's also why, in playoff time, he doesn't do so well...because better defenses (for the most part) have been able to get to him. I do think he's tougher than people assume. But Favre is more mobile, has been sacked more, and still keeps that streak going. Regardless of whether Manning breaks the streak, Manning will never reach Favre's toughness.

Look at the disparity in sacks - Favre has 300 sacks more and in only 6 seasons more playing time. Since 2002, Manning has an overall average of less than ONE sack per game. Manning would have to play until 2025-2026 to reach Favre's mark. Favre, regardless of what people presently think of him, will always be the true Iron Man.

Again I'm not saying Favre isn't the toughest QB of all-time. As far as having superior o-lines part of that is amplified by the styles they play. Manning has a quick release and gets rid of the ball much more quickly than Favre. Favre is more of a gun-slinger and holds on to the ball longer than a lot of QBs. Favre's was probably my favorite non-Colts QB ever, with only John Elway being close. Outside of seeing the Patriots lose and the Colts win, the GB-Den was my fav. SB.

Manning will try his best to take that record away from Favre. Still, it won't be looked at in the same way. Favre played in the elements. His style of play is more aggressive, adding to why it's so unbelievable. Favre has not consistently had a great O-Line that Manning has over the years. Manning acknowleged his body feeling 28-29 yrs old because of it. Yes, this is debatable. Fair or not, even if Favre loses this record to Manning, I believe he will always be the face of this record.

For all the credit Manning gets, the one thing that seems to be ignored is his toughness. I believe that he has only missed one snap in his career due to injury. He had his jaw broken against the Dolphins, missed one play (I believe Mark Rypien fumbled) and returned to the game. I think he had his jaw wire shut the next couple of weeks.
