LOL Kurt Warner is a total douche. he doesn't even compliment favre. all he does really is talk about himself and how had he made it with the packers he wouldn't have started yet and never would have won a superbowl. well good thing you sucked then...
@th1a90 ... You're misinterpreting what he's saying. Warner had a brilliant career that started...and ended...during Favre's streak. That's just another fact that makes the streak amazing. Also, how can you possibly say that Warner sucked? The guy played in more Super Bowls than Favre did.
I don't understand how Jerry Rice's records weren't on this list. He has at least 3 records that will never be touched. REC yards 1st - 22,895 yards - Rice 2nd -15,208 yards - Bruce Receptions 1st - 1,549 Rice 2nd - 1,102 Harrison Total TD's 1st - 208 Rice 2 - 175 E. Smith
My god. If Brett Favre was a Viking 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010. I don't care how well he plays that would of been great. We would have gone to the superbowl in one of those years. and I might sound like a complete dumbass, but Favre should come back next year... but too coach our rookie quarterback Jake Locker. !
no doubt it will not be broken, but does he deserve it is the real question. there are other quarterbacks with more titles out there, but its because of stuff like this that people give him too much credit. tell me, would you take favre and his streak over montana, who won 4 championships despite missing games?
manning will never get near this record also favre is a god i am a green bay fan and I still love him hew is my favorite player of all time and I hope he does great now with moss
@btez31 "a few years", lol what an idiot. A few yrs in Football is about 2-3,, if Farve retires this year it would be 2016 before GAYTON unMANNING can break it. I htink you let the video mislead u d1p$hit because they say 2013. This was televised a while back. Adios nutjuice!!!
@triplebaseball if that does happen I say they should replace it with the Cleveland Browns going 27 straight regular season quarters without the offense scoring a touchdown
yea peyton manning is going to play for 20 seasons! he said it himself he just loves the game too much just like brett favre. he said football is basically his top priority in life and that shows. he isnt married he doesnt have kids becuase hes too busy preparing to pick apart every defense out there
Damn they though 237 was shocking, it's 285 now. If Favre were to retire this season (which I don't expect) Manning will have to play another 6 seasons to catch him.
Favre is the best ... just think how better he would be if he sold his soul to football like manning. Playing with a burr up his ass trying to be the perfect ball hog ... Almost like he is trying to compensate for something....
When Favre was on the Packers he was the greatest in the world. Now he's on the Vikings and he can't make the Superbowl. Packers might never have a greater Quarterback.
are you calling brett favre's first year with the vikings a failure??? your a dumbass, he brang them to the game before the superbowl and probably had the best statistical year of his entire career, fucking retard. do you even watch football??
@larsonator69 I made some comments last year on this board to that effect, so Farve doesn't have the receivers this years and is forcing it a lot, now I get a bunch of Farve sucks comments. These fools are a joke, sheeple that listen to current hype only.
this is an old video when he was still w/ the packers, so they are not taking into acount the next three or so years...Manning will have to play to around 39 or 40...Payton isnt that kind of guy i dont think. but if any one breaks it, Manning will.
Brett Favre is just so fun to watch. My family is a huge Favre follower. We tried to watch him when he was on the Jets and he's the only reason why I was a Packers fan. Now he's on the Vikings and I think this is his best year because he only has like 5 interceptions this year!
You're absolutely right, I wasn't saying Favre isn't tough or hasn't been hit more than Manning. Just pointing out that Manning is tougher than he gets credit for. One of the very few things that Manning doesn't get credit.
I don't think he gets the credit because he's consistently had one of THE best offensive lines in football. He's rarely under pressure because of it. It's also why, in playoff time, he doesn't do so well...because better defenses (for the most part) have been able to get to him. I do think he's tougher than people assume. But Favre is more mobile, has been sacked more, and still keeps that streak going. Regardless of whether Manning breaks the streak, Manning will never reach Favre's toughness.
@DeathStrikeVirus I was referring to Peyton Manning's O-Line being the best, as opposed to Favre's O-line. A huge part of the Iron Man labeling lies with the SACKS stat. Look at the disparity in sacks - Favre has 300 sacks more and in only 6 seasons more playing time. Since 2002, Manning has an overall average of less than ONE sack per game. Manning would have to play until 2025-2026 to reach Favre's mark. Favre, regardless of what people presently think of him, will always be the true Iron Man.
@TeeOhDoubleDizzle Peyton's O-line is only average and it's undersized. He gets rid of the ball quickly unlike Favre who holds on to it for an eternity cause he can't make a decision. And eventually that leads to the pocket collapsing.
Your facts about Brett Favre's O-Line are absolutely wrong. He has been consistently one of the most sacked QBs in the NFL. In fact, he is the most sacked QB of all time as of this season. He has had success despite bad O-Lines, which makes him worthy of even more credit!
@geoffdame When I said "he" in my message about the average O-Line, I was referring to Peyton Manning. I was saying that even if Manning breaks the record, he shouldn't get the same credit as Favre. I apologize for the confusion and not putting Manning's name at the beginning, but if you continued to read the rest of what I said, it revealed exactly what you thought I didn't say. There is no one to compare to Favre....and there never will be. THE toughest player ever. Thanks for the memories.
@TeeOhDoubleDizzle Manning won't break it. Nobody will. One day, Manning will get hurt or have a family thing such as a funeral to go to and thats where his streak will end
And when I say he'll never match it, I mean that in both the perceived and realized senses. If & when Manning breaks it, analysts and pundits will look at the sacks, the line he had, among other things. I do like Manning a lot though...don't get me wrong. He deserves all the accolades. He's a beast.
Again I'm not saying Favre isn't the toughest QB of all-time. As far as having superior o-lines part of that is amplified by the styles they play. Manning has a quick release and gets rid of the ball much more quickly than Favre. Favre is more of a gun-slinger and holds on to the ball longer than a lot of QBs. Favre's was probably my favorite non-Colts QB ever, with only John Elway being close. Outside of seeing the Patriots lose and the Colts win, the GB-Den was my fav. SB.
I'm a huge Favre fan and after what we saw last with the Jets I could see why they had their doubts. Now I wouldn't have called him garbage though. Also keep in mind that Favre was enemy for so many years.
But we just found out this season that his arm was fucked up towards the end of last season and I guess we can see the results when his healthy. The man still has the juice...
Peyton needs to stay healthy and play 5 more seasons +14 games in a 6th season after Brett calls it quits or misses a game. It's possible I suppose, but I think he will be ready to join the analysts and commentators before then.
Manning will try his best to take that record away from Favre. Still, it won't be looked at in the same way. Favre played in the elements. His style of play is more aggressive, adding to why it's so unbelievable. Favre has not consistently had a great O-Line that Manning has over the years. Manning acknowleged his body feeling 28-29 yrs old because of it. Yes, this is debatable. Fair or not, even if Favre loses this record to Manning, I believe he will always be the face of this record.
For all the credit Manning gets, the one thing that seems to be ignored is his toughness. I believe that he has only missed one snap in his career due to injury. He had his jaw broken against the Dolphins, missed one play (I believe Mark Rypien fumbled) and returned to the game. I think he had his jaw wire shut the next couple of weeks.
I'm a huge Favre fan and I know Favre is one tough SOB and his streak will be remembered in years to come. But for all you guys dissin Manning, please don't. I have so much respect for Manning, coming in from Jump street being selected #2 and putting the Colts on the fing map. He may not be tough like Favre but if and when he breaks that streak, he would have earned it.
You also have to keep this in mind, half of all QB's miss a game or two every season. One of these two guys is likely to miss a game at SOME point due to injury.
hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!! wow your hilarious i bet you think you could also get the record for most homeruns for the mlb hahahahahahahahaha!!!! your funny
