I'll be getting a back tooth years from now when I can afford it. I wonder if there are any side effects? I wonder if a person can chew w/ it as they normally would...even things that are super crunchy? Also, how is it maintained?
My friend got this, he said you don't feel a thing after they put the tooth in and your up. But it does feel a little sore (I don't know, it may differ for you). He got it because I knocked his tooth out in the 6th grade when I pushed him down hill on his skateboard. Any ways hope your not scared or nervous about this. :)
@DearlySecret haha even if u need 1 u shouldn't worry i had one today and they were done in 10 minutes.. didnt feel a thing it actualyl felt kinda funny.
they give you a shot so you won't feel a thing, under the effects of the aesthetic, even a mike tyson punch wouldn't hurt :) and we all know mike tyson can kill, this little implant can't :p
I've had two upper implants done. The only slightly painful part in the whole process is having the aesthetic injection. The drilling part is nothing really. Having the implant screwed in is a bit strange but I suspect that that is mostly psychological. The end result is excellent both functionally and cosmetically.
you want to use whatever's most human. You want to use a sort of plaster compound that would make grout human but strong like a strong plastic but still pliable like human.
oh damn that makes me poop my pants ! well my problem is that i never grew a tooth on the upper jaw the third left tooth before the dog tooth (sorry 4 the bad explanation but i dont know how the words xD) so in order to have a perfect smile i must get an implant AND I am so scared coz i am still young xD 16 year-old
i got mine done 3 days ago, was a bit weired cause i was awake while they did it, but my face has swollen up like a ballon and i have a couple bruises!
oh man! how much does it cost, i have 2 get it done soon, im so scared pls i need ur reply just lost my incisor 2days ago, how long should i wait 2 get an implant?
well i had it done for free off the NHS (in the uk) and i was on the waiting list for about 2/3 yrs but usually they cost around£3000/4000, so thats why i chose to wait. dont be scared, i was at first but you will be fine, you wont feel it at all, beacuse they numb your mouth. but I did have alot of blood in my mouth for a few days and i couldnt brush my teeth properly and i was on two courses of antibiotics for a week.
it really depends on what your dentist recommends on how long you should wait, beacuse i lost my front tooth 12 years ago, when i was 9 and now i am 21 and i have only just had my implant, so i would advise you to ask your dentist.
i think that's because they usually wont do the procedure if you are under 16 because your mouth is still growing, and your teeth or prone to moving or something like that?
while I was having the sugery I diddnt feel a thing beacuse my mouth was numb, but after that wore off, it did hurt quite a bit only for a few hours, but they should give you some ibuprofen or paracetomol to control the pain, which does help quite alot. but the next day when I woke up I was fine. The only thing was, was that my face was swollen and I had bruises.
but dont be scared...I was but if your awake while they do it, then just close your eyes and think happy thoughts. thats what I did
how long did the operation last?? i am soo scared but i am getting an implant when i m like 18-19 or somthing like that and now i am 16 and i am scared LIKE helll i am pieing my pant and then pooping out of fear lol sorry for all the ignorant talk but i am scared lol ^ ^
it lasted about 30-45 mins or so, not too long. dont worry there is nothing to be scared about, it wont hurt and you wont feel a thing. I had the second part of the implant today. the dentist attached the last two parts which is shown in the video onto the actual screw inside my bone. again i diddnt feel a thing. i have to go back in 3 months to have the tooth fitted on and then im done. but you will be fine so dont worry!
that sucks dude, im getting one for the tooth inbetween the canine and the front tooth on the right side of my mouth. no insurance so its gonna be hella expensive. good luck with yours.
i'm getting them in that spot on both sides of my mouth...fun fun! but our dental insurance is pretty good...i just have to get it done before i graduate high school! yikes!
