This was the first of the initial summer series of "SCREEN DIRECTORS' PLAYHOUSE", presented on NBC's Friday night schedule [9-9:30pm(et)] under the sponsorship of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer (until "THE LIFE OF RILEY" replaced it in the fall, on October 7th). This was also Jimmy Wallington's first episode as host/announcer; he stayed with the series [even when Pabst withdrew their sponsorship after that summer] until it ended in 1951.
