Wow what a race! Any one of those horses could have won. I think that the animal cruelty activists have got the wrong page. The trainers and owners love their horses and would never do anything to harm them. They get feed top shelf diets and are extremely well exercised. Do you count the calories for your pet and exercise them religiously? I doubt it. I'm offended to read that people are accusing this sport of being in humane, its the race that stops a Nation and now stops the World :)

@zjgillespie did you know they tie the tounge down so the horse cant make any response to the hard pulling in the mouth ? its horrible, and the speed is so high that sometimes the horses break theur legs and have to countinue running becouse the jockey beats them, its horrible, sorry for my bad english, im from sweden

@JuliaStuxberg actually the tongue is tied down so they dont play with the bit and get there tongue over it and choke only a few race with it! its not so they cant respond to the pulling of the mouth. INjuries happen just like any professional athlete, the funny thing is.. many of these horses upon retirement miss the track so much and make themselves sick that they are returned as pony horses. They arent forced, this is like a dog bred to hunt. Alot is done in this sport to protect the horses.

Was a dead heat!! I've seen races where there were inches in it and were looked at more closely. One picture BEFORE the finish line and it was decided. You would think with THAT much money involved you would give us a picture of a horse OVER the line....
