Route 66 is not an interstate, it's a US Highway... or should I say was. It no longer exists, at least with that number.

I think the last stretch was removed around 1984 or 85. I mean, the road itself is probably mostly still there, but the 66 designation has long since been removed.

When I was in Citizenship, I learned it was in New York. There was a drawing of G. Washington taking oath on a balcony with New York City in the background as I recall.

On further research, we're both right to a point. Philadelphia was the capital from 1790-1800. Before that, it was New York City.
