Everyone in the pixies is awesome, and its kind of hard to say this but I think I like Kims stuff with the breeders more than franks solo material... but still they are all amazing and do great work. So if your going to target one person in the band just remember your targeting the pixies cause everyone in that band was just as important as the other

why do you think kim deal sucks? be a little more specific. sure it was basically black francis's band because he was the main lyricist but i must agree with slyder1982 when he said that the bass is what made the band so good. also what was not mentioned is that she went on to form her own alternative band "the breeders." the pixies used radically different producers from album to album. have many of you even taken the chance to listen to each album all the way through before you judge?

@bluejay55118 KIm's baselines certainly anchor all the Pixies tunes. But I actually think its Joey's "sonic overlay" guitar style that most singly defines the Pixies musical style. Its been said by many a musician since that "threre are no great chords left, Pixies took them all." Could be rephrased "Joey Santiago took them all." Way underappreciated guitarist, and probably more importantly, writer. Methinks this band never gets to this point w\o all 3 of them.

Dick, my opinion, you have no friggin clue of what you're talking about. Kim Deal is as important as any member of the band. Her basslines actually glue this band together, and she makes great harmonies with Frank. Oh, and she wrote "Gigantic". So yeah, DICK, you have no clue. Again, my opinion.

@Slyder1982 Guys, guys -- The Pixies together were the ultimate ensemble cast. Come on now think Seinfeld. Did any members of the ensemble cast of Seinfeld achieve the same success or critical acclaim on their own as they did together as a group. Absolutely not. Same applies for the Pixies. Together musically, albeit not private personally, they were the ultimate fusion in alternative rock -- influencing countless alternative bands sound over the past 20 years. Pixie togetherness lives on.

this is one of my favourite pixies songs. i heard somewhere that kim was possibly going to sing the song instead of black, but due to ego and arguements in the band black sang. i think if kim had sung this it would be the best pixies song

Trompe le monde was a huge disappointment to me when it was released - the pixies were so good but this album is mostly stale :(

Huge improvement when Black went solo compared to the pixies later efforts!!!!!

it is amazing that such beautiful song can last less than 3 minutes.
