  • @hgamer LOL!!It is a great thing that we all do to get the art out,Thank you.

  • @hgamer O.O!!!

  • Very very wise

  • @truexgunnerxchronica glad you like

  • @truexgunnerxchronica is wing chun worth studying? how long does it take to master?

  • @truexgunnerxchronica personally i'd say if you really want to learn to fight, then one should know wing chun.... master, always depends on the individual... if you want to get good its always up to you

  • @hgamer IVe honestly gotten interested in wing chun because of jackie chans "rumble in the Bronx" and then i noticed it is very useful..

Sadly i dont think there is a Wing Chun accademy where i live. I only know 2 martial arts and it is really fun to learn, one day i will learn Wing Chun and Drunken Fist!

  • @truexgunnerxchronica Youll find a way if you really want to learn...

  • @hgamer i Actually planned to move to china in the future to learn martial arts...

  • @truexgunnerxchronica same here !!! i want to go once i finish highschool and know a couple of sifus

  • hi my friend

I clearly se that you're a smart and observant person and i invite you to enlighten yourself practicing other martial arts such as JUDO , TKD ...something which you find very different of WC .Don't "stuck" on an only way of fighting. I'm not saying that you should do that cause WC is not a complete MA or cause it hasn't high kicks or whatsoever.DO IT JUST FOR LOVING MA AND FOR FUN. i'm certain a smart person like will be amazed.

keep it up Promoting your wonderful art.

    BOW

  • @afaijtima3iya one should ask yourself...... if one can promote multiple martial arts, why can't one promote a single martial art

  • This looks like karate, rather than wing chun

  • maybe you should use wikipedia and figure it out... numb nut

  • if that's not wing chun, then what is wing chun? the explanations don't get more clear or better than that. you're an idiot

  • @unwawbl lol... apparently you dont know Martial arts...

  • I heard that your mom does too ;)

  • It's too bad about the soind quality here..because I the mic distance from him and the room acoustics..his voice/words are just getting lost in the echo/depth of the room like mush..very muddled. Maybe a wireless mic pinned on the T-shirt would be much better/clearer?

  • U KNOW NOTHING EVEN OF THE OPENING OF THE STANCE ..... ALL THE PEOPLE GOOD TO TALK .... ARE NOT GOOD IN WC ... U SAY DON'T LEARN MUAY THAI ... WHY???? if the dead of a style is the implosion on it'self if u don't match the others ... u are good only showing tecniques in the siu nim tao stance .. blocking the student ..... u shit teacher ... evrything is in the move

  • lol.... that's me mocking you.... and you know......... zzziiippp

  • hey hgamer i'm taking muay thai right now and if i were to take wing chun would that combo fit or no? cause the stance is so much different in muay thai im not sure if i can even mix it together. thanks let me know from your persepective

  • stick with muay thai.

  • no, it would not work..... if you like muay thai, then stick with it.. and learn it well... too many people keep mixing and matching and barely learn an art

  • THX TO YOU TUBE I WAS PELVIS TUCKING AND LEANING BACK TILL LAST WEEK WHEN MY MASTER CORRECTED ME. MY BACK WAS SCREAMING IN PAIN.

THEN I SEEN THIS...(after the fact).

A_M_EN!! 10 MOTHERF*CKING STARS! LISTEN TO YOUR BODY FOOLS THIS MAN IS DEAD ON AND TOTALLY RIGHT--RELAX--AND NO SILLY ASS HAMMER PUNCHING.

LINEAGE IRRELEVLANT. TRUST IN THE SHAOLIN.

Why would they teach a system that encouraged injury?

COMMON SENSE IS AN UNCOMMON VIRTUE!

  • Come now Children, you are bringing shame to the art.

  • How you contradict yourself practically immediately in this video just shows how little you understand what you say.

Only the ignorant that do not understand what it is they are trying to communicate resort to mindless insults, again as you have demonstrated. Excuse me for thinking you may be of better mind than that. Good by and good luck for the future.

  • obviously you can't point that out or even talk about the basics of ygkym.... that's the key, talk in generalizations.....

  • I trained Fong's way for years, and once I shifted to a more 'original/traditional' lineage did I see the big holes in the Fong system. Not saying he is bad, or a fraud, just saying that once I adopted the traditional teachings did I notice greater power in striking and greater stability in my stance due to the REAL reasons you train the stance in that 'goofy' manner. Once I shifted did I notice the bad attitude toward other lineages that I had (like yourself) that was due to lack of knowledge.

  • LOL...... trained in fong's way..... wow, look a the holes... ROFL.... no one eats a a steak, and then leaves and says, oh mcdonalds is so much better..... please, you truly understand so little

  • Do you want to know what is really funny? Every word you have spoken so far I have heard before. From my own mouth when I would instruct under Fong's methods. The difference between our comments is that your's are a regurgitation, mine are from experience and your tone demonstrates this.

  • your from the uk, so by your ass personality, i'm pretty sure who instructed.... typical student, saying their holes in sifu's style, when what really happened is your too much of a mental midget to figure out the stuff he was teaching you... so you strayed and tried to find another line that would kiss your ass and something easier for you to comprehenend...duhhh, duhhh.

  • A pretty typical assumption. You can create any story you like for me if you feel you have something to defend, it makes no difference to the path I have taken. It was nothing more than personal circumstances that lead me away from the school. I grew a little tired of the ego by the end. Don't pretend to know me and why I have come to certain conclusions. Again, I have learnt through experience. You simply regurgitate without any understanding of what you preach.

  • i don't have to assume i know......i know all...... pretty sure your instructor was probably dale or someone alone his lines.....

  • In the first 2 minutes of this video you have demonstrated a complete lack of understanding of Yee Gee Kim Yeung Ma. I see you used the name Fong earlier. Would that be Augustine Fong, by chance?

  • another expert, who likes to yack that they actually know ygkym... yawn... join the ranks

  • Oh so you're the expert and 'the' authority? Afraid to answer my question???

Oh and your explanation of the vertical pulling punch is a half truth.

    So....is it Augustine Fong?

  • eeeek... scrarey...

  • Wow, great stuff. Great teacher!!!

  • Hgamer!

I bet your excited about the new movie IP Man with Donnie Yen huh?!! :D

  • actually no..

  • really why not..?? :(

I knoe its only loosely based on master Yip's life but... I do like how wing chun is on the big screen.

  • i've seen sifu fong in action, watching donnie yen, is watching a rookie trying to copy what real wing chun looks like....

  • O.o oh... well okay.

but its a movie and I thought the previews

    were preety good.

asides he had to study with Yip man's sons and the videos I've seen of him doig it weren't bad at all .__. in fact the trailer had some good stuff in it.

  • There's too much background noise. T_T

  • Thanks for sharing. Keep up the good works.

  • in addition, are you open minded to other philosophies about kung fu. i would really like to meet up one day, maybe come to a seminar of yours and participate, message me anytime. :) thanks

  • I really liked your discussion about the center, and how the stance should be natural. I used to practice at a Wing Chun club at a university (long discussions of technique) and have watched two of your videos. I can tell you really understand the dynamics of wing chun. So many videos on the net are amateurs doing forms. I liked your video about kicks and not using your arms.

  • yo man it's matt from tucson. hey thanks for these videos they help out alot. u break things down very well. see u next time you come down hope things are good in chi town.

  • And in a tournament one guy really hurt himself because I jumped to the side while he made a very strong punch. He didn't expect this, so he couldn't stop it properly. Crack.

That's why I prefer the WT/WC technique now. It takes some time to unlearn the prelearned, but until now my ellbow is just fine.

  • Good discussion on stance.

    Too bad for echo.

  • I am bad english and I understand fine =P

But the reason people is hurt elbows is also could be they are fully make there arm streight, you need bend elbow little bit when punch or can hurt it from the force. Is many kick in WC??? I have see front kick, but is all...

  • if you don't straigthen out your arm, you won't have killing power and full release of the punch...... there's allot of kicks in wing chun as well...more then just front kick

  • If you fully extend your elbow you can over extend it, that can lead to elbow injurys. Iv never hear of fully extending your elbow, all iv ever heard about it is DONT. This might be why your students elbows hurt??? You havent hurt your elbows doing that??? But iv never practiced your style, just Kyokushin. So im talking from Kyokushin and Krav Maga. No disrespect, iv just heard different, but you know what your doing im sure. Thats what my BF feel about WC punch and elbow thingy =D

  • you get the injuries of the motion is wrong and you pop it, like i showed in the video. If you don't extend the punch you can't release the power. No i've never hurt my elbow at all, even after punching at full power for a long time. As for what other styles do, don't really know or care how they do it.

  • Ya, but if you closing your mind to ONE way of fighting, how can you became better??? I love wingchun, but in Kyokushin and Shotokan maby the punch is more powerful, so is more able to hurt elbow, or maby the technique is can hurt elbow. He didnt make it clear but he knows your good at your style and belive you 100% about your punch, but he dosent do wingchun, just Karate and Krav Maga. I am Judo girl, so I wouldent really know crap about punch lol

  • People are specialist, this entire concept of mix and match, just doesn't work.. whoever plays their game better always wins. Do what you like, so if you like wing chun, then be good at it, if you like judo, be good at that, if your art is true and you play your game, you'll do fine

  • Agreed on the must of using full extension punches to get the fll power of a WC straight punch. However although what you said about not 'popping' the elbow in the vid is for safety. If the old time WC methods of strengthening the elbow are used, people should have no problem..even if hey 'pop' the elbow as I always do. One of the methods is actualy shown by Sifu Rick Tucci Jeet Kune Do Full Instructor under Dan Inosanto on a tape of his from 16 years ago. A straight iron bar is used which is>

  • >>also a little heavy and the length and width of a broomstick. Sifu Tucci held the bar in the center & continuously did a straight punch popping the elbow and arm totally straight very forcefully. He did state to do other training first to help strengthen ligaments/tendons in the elbow before moving to the iron bar but he does state that the iron bar is a very old method in WC training. For the record in more than 25 years of teaching Sifu Rick has not had an elbow problem, nor have I. Peace.

  • well, keep popping then...

  • I've trained Kyokushin Karate before, you stop the punch before it goes as far as possibly damaging the ellbow. You stop it by the force of your biceps and your shoulder-muscles. So, the harder you punch, the harder your muscles have to work to hold the punch back. By doing so, you never have to care about your ellbow, but you lose some distance. And as I can tell you, you need some massages after intensive training-sessions...

  • I cant make out what you are saying :(

  • Hey Ed i have been looking for part 2and3 did you post them or have they already been removed. vey nice vid thanks for the info.

  • click on hgamer you can see all the videos there and there's 4 parts total

  • I have been practicing fong's wing chun for years. thats exactly what sifu Fong taught in a seminar 20 years ago. excellent job Ed.

  • Can you find a room with better acoustics? I find it hard to hear what you're saying. Otherwise, very nice.

  • i'll see what i can do

  • Cool. Keep the videos coming!

  • Totally agree. I have lots of trouble understanding what you say because of all the unclear audio.

  • Very interting , Thankyou for the excellent instruction.
