I like the Echoes version in Pompeii that was uploaded 5 years ago better. I just dont like this. Its more slowed down. But there is one thing that did not change is David Gilmour's great guitar sound.
From the beginning I knew that the pitch had been changed in the Pompeii versions I watched, but I just thought they were trying a different scale and just ignored the pitch change until it was so natural.
didn't quite understand what you guys were talking about until i played my Pompeii simultaneously with this one. Now i can never watch/listen to the old Pompeii version anymore. Thanks a lot man!
@cophahn Yeah, once you've heard the difference it's hard to understand how you didn't notice the huge problem before. Even their voices are totally messed up. I think there is a full-quality corrected DVD copy on The Pirate Bay. I'm going to try and upload a ~700 MB version but I'm being lazy.
@lucasnmm Thanks for watching! Glad to be getting some views and comments on these. It is amazing, isn't it? "Just" half a semitone (or so I've been told) and the difference is astounding.
@TheOneartist Yeah, I feel the same way about the views :( I was hoping more people would find it... but no, they're still listening to the sped up versions. Thank you for watching and commenting!
That's cool about the torrent! I couldn't find any awhile ago. I don't need it because I have a fixed copy of my own, but I'm glad that it's out there. I don't really feel like uploading my full-quality DVD, but I've been trying to get my video encoder to cooperate enough to make a ~700 MB version.
@tobymisohead You're welcome. Different issue, but I feel the same way about views when it comes to 60's mono mixes. Like for example, a lot of people are still listening to the stereo version of "Piper at the Gates of Dawn" instead of the mono version. After the first album, Pink Floyd started being involved with the stereo mixes, but the stereo version of Piper sounds like a demo compared to the finished mono mix.
Sad when most people don't see or hear something the way the artist intended.
@tobymisohead And the DVD of Pompeii with the correct pitch was uploaded just 3 months ago. Really recent compared to how long it's been around at the wrong pitch. I'm not technical enough to be able to fix it myself, so I'm grateful for it. But to think how much time went by....
@TheOneartist Yep, like I said, when I was looking for it last year I couldn't find it. I heard that the old VHS tapes and such were at the wrong pitch as well. It's pretty horrifying, knowing how many people love the movie, that they're all listening to it wrong.
I know what you mean about 60's stereo mixes too - they give me a headache, with all the hard panning to one channel or the other.
I love that epic and long intro, most songs would be almost finished by then :P

I still prefer the one with 25 fps, but is good to know how was their real voices and real pitch.

Thank you for this. Now I can play my guitar to this without retuning.

Too bad this doesn't have more views. 4 % is definitely enough to notice a difference. This definitely sounds like the pitch on the album.
Someone uploaded a torrent of the DVD, original version and corrected pitch. Going to check it out.
