I have a toshiba satellite A205-S5800 System Unit its pretty old as far as i know. Im having major problems connecting to the internet, it seems to have trouble finding the networks. it completely cant find one single network. my question is how do you enable the wifi? how do you turn it on or off?

i have this computer and so far its crashed about 7 or 8 times and my mom has managed to restore it back, so far the best way i learned to keep it from crashing is to keep the entire system clean and clear of any useless programs that you don't use at all

I have had this laptop for a while (almost 3 years) and I wanted to point out a few things in case someone is considering buying this computer. I have 5 (mostly minor) problems with it. First, it overheats very quickly. Another thing is that the battery needs to be charged often and for long periods of time. Eventually, the computer stops charging altogether. Also, the latch to close the top is flimsy and takes a few pushes to close. Lastly, some programs don't run very well on this computer.

This is a really great computer. It may be a bit bulky, but that doesn't bother me. The battery life does dwindle down as the number of uncharges/charges increases, but I still get 1:20 out of it with just firefox running. (in Ubuntu. with Vista, it's about 40 minutes, 50 with XP, but my computer is almost three years old)

I have the a205-5825 model, same laptop shown but it came with a 120gb hdd and 1gb pc2-5300 memory. I imediately upgraded to a t7700 cpu and 3gb(2+1) pc2-6400 memory but now running windows7. I purchased mine back in may/08 and not a single problem with it and the battery has lasted for at least 2hr for me. The only problem i came accross was the dvd burner, its finicky with certain dvd brands. I find TDK works every single time, the memorex brand it didnt like, plenty of coasters made.

This computer SUCKS. I have SOOO may problems with it, it's disgusting. 1) It's bulky, thick and huge-- typical of a PC laptop. 2) It crashes constantly. 3) Battery life is terrible. I'm lucky if I get 50 minutes out of it.

Bye bye PC. I just bought a Macbook Pro, and let me tell you the 500+ dollars more was WAYYYY worth it.

it sometimes just totally freezes, the screen sometimes moves up n it flickers i thaught it could be some connectors in the screen its self. if you cn come up with anythin ill be so greatfull man XD

os stands for Operating System like Windows xp , Windows vista , Windows Seven etc.

Try a system restore , goto start > all programs > accessories > system tools > system restore.

And restore your computer sometime before the problem. Hopefully it will fix the problem

I have the a205-s5000. It's a great deal for the money. The only thing is that it comes with a bunch of unneccessary preinstalled programs and favorites. If you're not sure which ones to delete, you can take it to geek squad or something and they can do it for you.

I've got the a205-s5825 model, has everything just like shown in the video. I replaced the original cpu with a 2.4g/4mb(t7700) and added another 1gb memory for a total or 2gb. For those who wonder about downgrading to XP, it can be done, i've done it myself. Some drivers can be found at the toshiba website, others you will have to google for. GL

MapleKage,the only kind of mouse you can add to it is a USB one.

It's actually a really nice laptop when coupled with an external mouse like the Microsoft model 3000.I purchased one for general use and it has served me well.

Looks similar, mine has 200GB HD, 2 GB RAM, ATI Radeon X1200, AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology 1.90 GHZ.

Reccomend it or the one in this video, to anybody who wants a good laptop for casual use at a good price.
