The sour kangaroo was an amazing singer but not the best actress. She was good but parts like her laugh could have been a little more convincing. The singing was great though! Horton was awesome!!! This song was really well done! :) great job!! :)
wow! even though you said this was a low budget production, it was really good! the set and costumes were cool! there were so many people saying the costumes were bad, but i actually liked the kangaroos costume! it was a different take on the character! she has an amazing voice!
Wow. Revisiting the old MCHS auditorium. Some things never change. Who directs the musical now? A bit disappointed with the pit, tbh. The band (and therefore the pit) used to be the big strength of MCHS. Thanks for a trip down memory lane (although I'm sure that's not what you intended in posting).
And plus, does anyone catch anything in the little description I wrote for this video? It's a dress rehearsal night (that actually had nearly everything go wrong with it) and that I said, "at least we made up for it on the show nights" WHICH we did. Sure, we don't have the best anything really going for us (like horrible lights... and also the camera being used is a home camera that doesn't record sound as best as it could).
And also our school doesn't have the best musical theatre program like I've seen other schools have (and our orchestra was small too!). But we did the best with what we had (plus, we had like no money going into this performance and not as many people were in the cast as years previous...).
And we have done practically the best in YEARS for our school. You should have seen some of the past years (not that they were horrible in themselves, but still)! PLUS, we didn't even have our normal director for this production since he was sick and was gone for nearly all year.
So basically, a sarcastic thanks to this "constructive critisism" which does absolutely nothing but tear our good memories of this show down since we can't "improve" what was in the past.
I like your Horton! He's really good! And your Mayzie's outfit it pretty spiffy, not gonna lie! 2 Questions- 1}coming from a former SK, i can't help but wonder... what happend to the baby kangaroo? did she just sing it? or was there a puppet/little kid/doll or something like that? and 2} your bird girls seem like they're all in the same vocal range. I know that that part is supposed to be like that, but did you guys still do harmonies? they were really good too- so were their outfits!
1. Actually, we managed to find a little dog puppet or something that looked like a kangaroo we used during the show, but I don't think we found it until after this night, I believe.
2. Yes, the bird girls did do harmonies, but I don't think we all had mics that night. Either that or the mics weren't balanced because we had some sound problems throughtout the musical that thankfully were better during the performances. : )
please tell me that wasnt her costume!
