@666bonscott You can use an acoustic sound hole pickup. I've seen them as cheap as $30. I should rephrase that to you should be able to use a sound hole pickup. Never tried it, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
@DarkMatterDaniel it should. as long as you have an axxuliary jack on the guitar it will always pick up the notes that have been strumed. just like a legit amp.
I can see ALOT of returns on this game from people getting frustrated about the fact that they dont even understand how to tune a "real" guitar. Theres just soo much that goes into just being able to hear notes, that I cant see this having any staying power in the "gaming market."
lol, the duck hunting game graphics look worse than anything that was ever on an atari 2600 (google it). but this looks awesome. someone was saying the strings of the guitar on the game are in reverse order (i.e., skinny string on the top). hope that 's not true and hope there isn't any lag. otherwise, it will be great

playing any band instruments isnt gonna be an art or something amazing anymore. people wont know the dicipline that alot of musicians have to put into practicing their instruments. they wont learn the stuff that a computer wont be able to teach you. if you play an instrument you arent gonna be an individual anymore you are jst be another person who plays an instrument that evrybdy can now pik up and play. if u want to learn an instrument learn it the old way. learn it the old way. thru hard work
@mettalica1017 That isn't something I'm really worried about. I think that those who pick this game up and want to be real guitarists will learn some stuff from this game but will also learn theory. This game can only tell you what to play. Not how to add spice and taste to your style of playing. Feeling comes from the heart not a game. So I think this game will bring more guitarists to the scene but those who don't really have a passion for it will continue to be video game guitarists.
But who is to say that using this game won't be hard work? You will just have a game teaching you than another person. You are still learning by yourself. It will still take dedication and discipline to continue learning how to play chords, theory, and just the basics.
Now they need to make it work for 7 strings and alternate tuned sixes. I don't want to have to get a new guitar or retune and restring what I have now just to play the game.

@thatAWES0MEdude in game or the guitar itself? I have the game and it plays all the notes you play and gives you an overview after you play it. If you don't hear him plucking the strings it's because he isn't plucking them hard and the song does play it, it just doesn't get heard unless you mess up because it's in tune with the actual song. it's a pretty neat system but I have had a problem with it not reading the low E string all that well sometimes but that's pretty rare. I just retune it.
i see it more as a game that i can have fun playing songs that i don't necessarily really want to learn and memorize. Rock band for talented people i guess. Sounds like fun to me. Plus hookin up my gretsch would feel cooler to me than holding that little plastic thing you know? grown ass people standing around with little plastic guitars... Love playing RB with my friend but this seems really fun.
Honestly, it just looks like a glorified tab software for noobs to me. This game isn't going to teach you how to play the guitar. If you're new to guitar, you might as well just save your 200$, get a decent guitar and amp, find some chord/scale sheets online and work your way from there. I can already do the same thing that this game is charging 60$ for. I honestly fail to see the purpose.

Shitty TVs have delay? No. LARGE TVs have delay because they're LARGE.
It takes a while to widen the signal to that magnitude when you're like 35"+
To fix that either change the TV setting to 'Game' (it will eliminate all delay as it tells the TV to not focus so much on frame rate as much as the speed that it spits out the signal) or get a smaller TV.

@pokemantrader Nah, I don't even own any game systems it would run on xD I just don't see the hard in people having fun with it. It's the same as those snowboarding games and what-not. And you don't have to be a 'wannabe' to enjoy this game. I'm interested in getting it just for the lulz, even though become some sorta 'rockstar' actually isn't even ON my to-do-list, having fun with the guitar is

@pokemantrader dude what are you saying, this game is for people who want to learn how to play guitar, i have been playing for 2 years and its hard to find people to jam with, hopefully this game will increase the number of guitar players. if anything guitar hero helped the music culture get pushed forward. and dont label people that play guitars as "rockstars" just cuz I play the guitar doesn't mean i wanna be a "rockstar"

You have to see it from the other way too ... I have been playing guitar for MANY years and DO play and Gig in a REAL band .... this game is still AWESOME
When you are not only playing a FUN game AND working on your guitar skills ... that is all WIN WIN WIN
Not sure what NONE guitar players will do, but I have not gotten board of my guitar in over 20 years and this game will certainly not cause me to do so ...
This is a GREAT TOOL !!

@pokemantrader yah 90% will probably play the game and stop playing the guitar, but they will have that skill forever, for most people the guitar is not their life, if u want to be a musician, music/instruments has to be your life, honestly I have a life and a small part of that is music. I do enjoy listening to music and playing the guitar to relax, don't measure success in how much people recognize you. I'm happy playing with my friends and for others

Shitty TVs have delay? No. LARGE TVs have delay because they're LARGE.
It takes a while to widen the signal to that magnitude when you're like 35"+
To fix that either change the TV setting to 'Game' (it will eliminate all delay as it tells the TV to not focus so much on frame rate as much as the speed that it spits out the signal) or get a smaller TV.
