  • Hmm hello (: I started playing tennis around a year ago. I have a trouble with timing, producing more spin into the ball with my back and fore hand, and I'm not so great at volleys. Do you have any advice you think may help thanks :D

  • @AdiosEskimoP I would say when it comes to timing and spin its really is just going to take a good amount of practice. Make sure you have a solid grip and follow through with the ball from bottom to top. Almost like a loop. Also when it comes to your volleys make sure you are using a continental grip and that you are not swinging at the ball, but rather blocking it back.

  • @jfbnyc1 Thank you. I will make good use of my practice then. (:

  • Wow! I'm just randomly looking through tennis recruiting videos and I found yours, and this is awesome!!! I'm guessing you got recruited by a strong D3 school in the NESCAC section judging by your performance :)

  • @suzwein thanks so much for the great comments. Im actually not playing for a school right now... i decided to focus more on academics. I am still playing though!

  • @jfbnyc1 Yeah academics should be the main reason why you would attend a school haha. Do you plan on joining a college tennis team in the years to come throughout your college career? I chose my school not only based on academics but also on their tennis facilities and program. I go to St. Lawrence University and one of the things I really like about the school is the fact that they have indoor courts so I can continue to train year round :)

  • @suzwein Not really sure yet if I would join a team. I go to American University and they have a pretty good club team with some good players so its ok for now. I wish the courts that I play on in school were indoors and had lights lol. Do you play for your school?

  • @jfbnyc1 Yeah I was recruited for the St Lawrence University team. I'm their #6 singles seed which is god for a freshman because they have one of the best tennis teams in New York State.

  • this place is nice...where is it? did you get any offers?

  • @wctennisnyc

Its at the Harlem Tennis center in NYC.

I haven't gotten any offers yet, but hopefully I will be hearing back from some colleges soon.

  • Good footwork, great tecqnique, good preparation and a consistent game. How many years have you played to get where you are?

  • @davced1

    Thanks so much

I have been playing for just about 10 years now

Took a lot of work, but great coaches
