I'm not a life-gaurd, I am a counter help..I make $157.50 a week. Just for sitting at the Candy Counter Giving little kids their burgers and candy.. A Nice TV in there, and great food to be honest... plus i get food for free.. A/C is good also. It's a great job.. but lifegaurds get like $12.00 an hour and usually work 18 hours a week..but i love my job
@Sneadster lol, it's good to lighten up the mood at times, but there are times to be serious and I'd say that one of those times is on the stand. Lifeguards should keep their eyes on the water, especially waterfront. btw, lol, a bit off subject, but do you know if the coast guard offers classes to civilians? I'm currently a facility guard but think it would be a good idea to get some extra qualification in open water.
@violindude415 oh i dont guard anymore, that was in high school and college. when we danced it was early in the morning when the water aerobics ladies were in the pool..and no i didnt know coast guard offered any, but i went on to join the air force and my squadron has to go through water survival training.
that was years ago, im dicharged now. long story short, its not as boring as lifeguard training. you get put into a "real life" panic scenario, and experience what its like to be the victim (under careful supervision, of course) --check out class c water survival, or anything to do with air force SERE. at the time, parts of it sucked, looking back, it was the time of my life.
lifeguards are there for a reason, i have been a lifeguard for 8 years. lifeguard put lives in their hands ever day. and risk their lives to save yours, anyone who says shit about lifeguards only do it cause they couldnt go through the training.
Alrighty then little Mrs-Lifeguard...I hate Lifeguards,They just yell and bicker and fluirt with the other lifeguards...and they make like 5 bucks a hour...Can anyone say Loser???? Yo and u have been there for 8 years so I have three words for u ....GET OVER IT!!!! Untill I ever C u on the Red carpet...u got no dang room 2 talk about how special u r...They sit,sleep,and r loser and don't save lives...JUST LIKE U...I HATE U AND LIFEGUARDS...Go cry and drown in ur dreams!!!!!
@Legallyblond57 you obvisously have never met a lifeguard, we get PAID to sit there and get a sun tan, go in the water and shout at people, its an honour to be a lifeguard, saving lives, more than a fat kid sitting at his computer all day could ever achieve, you probs cant even swim.
@Legallyblond57 I hope one day you get into trouble and there is no lifeguard to save you....I've been a lifeguard for almost ten years and it is amazing to see such idiots that don;t listen. It is an honor to be guarding lives!
these people arent lifeguards. theyre two steps above. best on the east coast.
