That's some good advice Bronx. There is also another trick where you can get your SW or Soother frame to cast an enfeeb then deactivate quickly. The Fanto will stop activating and no hate will be generated. Were you using a Mana Booster or Tactical Processor during this battle?
Some advice that I learned from this fight. Go in first and only aggro him. Don't hit him until he summons his automaton. If you hit him and need to fight a Valoredge or Harliquen, your PUPs cure's will draw hate and you'l be bouncing hate around. Let him cast, then chose your mob.
