I remember always thinking the fanfare was weird when I was little. The fanfare in Super sounded a lot different until I realized all they really did was switched the background out to the front. At least I think anyway.

Can't stand those warning beeps either. Wish they just did it for a few seconds like in TMNT1 on the NES. Although that is arguably one of the most annoying low-health warnings in all of history.
