  • I remember watching this when it was originally broadcast. I love them.

  • Isn't this the acoustic version of 4th track of their 2002 untitled album / bracket "( )" album? It's also called "Njósnavélin".

  • SENZA PESO IL MIO CUORE,QUANDO SCORRONO LE TUE PAROLE!

  • Love them

  • A lot of the songs are in Icelandic but Jonsi also uses his voice like an instrument. Making up words that just fit in that has come to be dubbed Hopelandic. I translated some lyrics from Hoppipola but as amazing as the lyrics are I kind of prefer not knowing what they say exactly. :)

  • Radiohead was there? I can see the Ondes Martenot & Analogue System.

  • kad bih znao o cemu peva...:(

    What is he singing about?

    And in another songs?

I'm so sorry I don't know Islandian or Norwegian but that's just the way it is

  • he isnt strictly singing about anything. if you read up on Sigur Ros you will see.

  • @rossmorris

how's that 'about anything'?! Even in Serbia or elsewhere musicians are singing about something:love,faith,nature,country...Only Dead Can Dance and Cocteau Twins aren't singing about anything particularly :)

Can you explain me meaning of 'If you read up on Sigur Ros you will see'?

    Tnx

  • @stojkovicigor

It doesnt have a text, just sounds they think that fits the music

  • @Vidartmp

    tnx a lot man

  • @stojkovicigor A Good portion of Sigur Ros's music has lyrics that aren't real words just used to go along better with the music sort of like using his voice as an instrument

  • i watched the documentary on sigur ros and another documentary on radiohead the other day. love both bands. sometimes little known bands are cool too. try out this very original acoustic instrumental trio. search Youtube for "Radium Karmara"

  • omg jonsi is so perfect

  • Vanilla Sky lol

  • love the music! love the house! love the stache!

  • kjarri's mustache is so awful.

such an amazing performance, of course. <3

  • Untitled #4 (Njósnavélin) a.k.a The Nothing Song from the album ( )

  • name of the song?

  • the lady talking near the end mentions that they sing in a language they make up, but i always thought it was icelandic? does anyone know if its gibberish or icelandic. though i do love them either way :)

  • Some of their songs are in their own created language which is called "hopelandic" by some people. Some other songs are sung in icelandic. This song is from their album "Untitled" which is only sung in hopelandic. To my mind their best album so far.

  • yea stop spreading that, it's not hopelandic

    its bullshit

the medic calls it that, like they call nirvana grunge

don't be a mirror for them

  • Jonsi sings in english, icelandic and hoplandic which is their own made up language

  • They sing a lot of thier songs in icelandic. However, they do use a language they made up in certain spots of some songs

  • All the songs from () are in Vonlenska(Hopelandic), as described on their website it is "a form of gibberish vocals that fits to the music". They also use in some other songs.

  • this song is just so soothing , amazing one

  • they can only fight success for so long-keep the creativity coming. please!!!

  • they've already reached success

  • so what are their sales so far?

  • sales is nothing for them. they just wanna make good music. they dont care about getting big. watch heima.

  • agreed. Jonsi has spoken about turning down multimillion dollar deals where people wanted to use their music in commercials etc.

  • i want to visit iceland

  • ondes martnot at 1:00?

  • Sittin' in on that session must've been amaizing - jealous beyond belief huh.

I have to check in with this clip from time to time to really appreciate where I live - Esja is one of many things that bought me to Ísland, Sigur Ros is just one of the many that keeps me here.....

    Snild.

    Bara snild.

Search this and play it once or twice "Leiðin okkar allra"

    Velkominn til Íslands.

  • me encanta sigur ros *-*

    preciosa su musica!!

  • Awesome

  • Was on Iceland Air to the island a week ago, and they had "Heima" on the inflight TV.

  • Algjör Snilld.

  • It is refreshing that there are still people in this world that are more involved in musicianship and creativity rather than image

  • Yeah I know, these guys are real musicians.

  • And willing to do anything for money!!!

  • So abw82! That's part of what makes them so special. Jonsi is amazing.

  • I recently bought their album Takk... without really knowing who this band were. Now I am a huge fan.

  • Now go and buy the Heima dvd they did in 2007. You'll be an even bigger fan and want to visit Iceland.

  • Dear lord!

If you thought Takk was good, hook yourself up a copy of Ágætis Byrjun and a bottle of merlot..... 'nuff said!

    Bless.

  • the exact same as i did...just got so hooked

  • Just couple of months ago purchased all their albums. No one has ever made such beautiful, touching and moving music. Their music makes me want to cry. Genesis made some touching music too. Check 'em out. Especially ''Supper's Ready''.

  • they all click so well together those four guys.. They all wanted to do the same thing with music when they first formed the band. And thank god they did.. And this song is in my Top 5 adleest

  • beautiful performance though.

  • Man, sigur ros are so good they managed to resurrect freddie mercury to play piano for them. Genius.

  • hahahaha nice

  • kjartan can surely rock the 1800s moustache!

amazing version is an amazing song

  • this acoustic version is cool!

  • what a beautiful woman on the stairs ...

    and this great music !

  • yeah, Verity Sharp, presenter of the bbcs culture show

  • A mi tambiéeeeeennnn

    A glowing soul of Uruguay

  • I'm not sure which is more impressive, the music or the pianist's moustache.

  • hahaha, excellent

  • Hahaha.

I think there's some competition between the two.

  • I find it hard to believe that some people do not like Sigur Ros. They're too good of a band.

  • Wordless...

    Totalmente sem palavras...

    <3

  • Is there a torrent for this performance?

  • I think you are missing the point.

  • solargesture wrote:

"is there ONE sigur ros song that isn't a repetetive, soundscapy load of sentimental slop?"

There's this one for a start.

  • lol people are stupid for marking this down. Kids, learn context. Stunning version by the way.

  • i love his sweater

  • Amazing.

    As always.

  • this is music...good hope

  • music that speaks to the soul!

  • This song represents a hope that things will get better.

  • njosnavelin! :)

  • What is this song ?

  • No? Does this bother you...? Did you start right away by knowing every song the band has wrote?

  • It's Njosnavelin (commonly referred to as the "Nothing Song") off (). It's probably their most well-known song because of its use during the climax of a shitty American remake (Vanilla Sky) of a truly stunning Spanish film (Abre los ojos.)

  • thanks ;)

  • I did actually.

  • this band can bring a tear to a glass eye

thank you forever and ever and ever sigur ros

  • This band came across my life like a lucky miracle. I woke up in the middle of the night With my tv on showcase. And Glosili was on, and from that random wake up I was in love and found by their music.
