It's hilarious when Ellen scares people, but there's studies about people who have had a sudden heart attacks or death from a sudden scare.. I know it sounds ridiculous, but in a person with underlying heart problems, a surge of adrenaline due to fright can cause heart rhythm abnormalities and possible sudden death. I just would hope she wouldn't try it on Betty White or someone alone that line! I still get a kick out of it, especially when someone in a costume sneaks up behind a guest.
