  • this is damn funny, I don't think he meant any harm, its not personal., But I love EV so much I would likely defend just about anything he says, he has put himself out there for so MANY many good causes--because he is passionate and never passive, his political activism speaks for itself --peace

  • hahaha! awesome! Eddie rules :0)

  • I've just been watching Eddies 'Ramones RRHOF induction speech', from 2002 and now this from 2003. I guess this period can be archived as EV: The Dickhead Years!

  • @MissKatebush Maybe his divorce had something to do with it.

  • Fuck you people. I'm Canadian and I'm not offended at all. He's allowed to have his own fucking opinion. You're all just mad because you don't spit, either.

  • Are you all kiddi´n me! Eddie Vedder says NOTHING that is remoooootly bad about Celine Dion (one thing you get out from it is that he thinks she has a big ego and that he doesn´t like her...). And ranting, ha,ha, he´s like whispering. If you want to hear someone ranting then listen to "Mr Rant" - Muhammed Ali; all he could do was to rant!

There you go folks, the rant of the day ;-) Oh, and loosen up just a bit, will ya´...

  • What is this in response to exactly?

  • ps: He is EDDIE VEDDER!!! He can say whatever the hell he wants!!!

  • @CrisNebulone: Hahahaha agreed, I heard a quote somewhere (cant remember where) that went "question everything except Eddie Vedder"

  • ahahahahaah!!!! "its not because she spits, its because she swallows!!!" ahahahahah!!! Brilliant!!!! Vedderman forever!!!!!!

  • what the FUCK is wrong with Celine Dion? Not my fav but she can sing! No disputing that.Explain though how Canada is a better place 2 live since she left?I'm sure Eddie didn't mean anything negative.

  • Eddie's speech threw me for a loop..He usually has a lot more class then that.I'm a little sad there,Eddie. ): :(

  • who knew eddie was such a small, bitter little man? very disappointing. not clear what the point was. i don't even like celine but, instead of making me like her less, i find i'm liking him a lot less after listening to that.

  • Oh wow, really people? I was reading the posts as I listened, waiting for this horrible "rant". It was a joke, too bad people have to be so sensitive. If I were Celine Dion, I would have laughed (it was funny) . Sensitive people should not follow people like EdVed, he is for those with a sense of humor and tougher skin. That is why he is one of my favs.

  • @elstonnancy absolutely

  • Was so happy when Celine went to Las Vegas.... Canada was a better place to live!!

  • lmao your all freaking out llike little bitches, "omg why in the world would eddie ever say such a harmful thing", jesus christ people shut the fuck up...

  • @FamVIDS2012 you spat the words right out of my mouth :)

  • god, this man has no critical insight - what a middlebrow hack

  • People. This is Eddie saying what he wants... free speech. so go cry to your mothers.

  • Quite disappointed in Eddie for saying this. It undermines himself to talk garbage about someone else. I always thought Eddie was one of the rare few in his peer group that had grown older and wiser and would have no need to make populist remarks to excite a young rock crowd.

  • @utubemaster047 To be fair,it was 8 years ago,he was quite drunk and the crowd weren't particularly young, mostly older rock fans.I don't think he said it to be populist, think he just doesn't like her.But...agreed,was very harsh of him!

  • oh my god. this sounds like eddie vedders evil twin or something. he was drunk and i bet he regrets this. (i hope he regrets it).

  • @wyattbutler87 you are a dismissive dumb-ass. you obviously didn't hear what he had to say. I hope you regret what you have said here.

  • I really like Eddie Vedder and I love Pearl Jam but that was unnecessarily mean.

  • That's kinda rude. I'm surprised Eddie would say that.

  • Eddie Vedder does not have an ego. Here's a quote from him "It's very hard to have an ego just cuz there are so many people that are better. - Eddie Vedder" he may be one of the nicest down to earth rock star in the world but he doesn't have the classic famous person ego by a mile

  • Wow. Funny stuff.

  • Wow. That was a bit harsh for no reason. kinda pandering to the rock audience. It's too easy to pick adult contemporary artist. Call Celine a "robot". Call her a "sell out". Call her what you will but with the exception on maybe Madonna or Michael Jackson, name another solo artist that can sell out Vegas for 5 yrs. She outsold Legends Elton John. Bette Midler, and Cher COMBINED! So let her "swallow" all the way to the bank baby! Sony must have done something right.

  • @tangthebang I agree partly with you. Eddie shouldn't talk about her ego, he's got a giant ego himself. He's talented and smart and probably a living legend already, but still he is an egocentric. While she's a very annoying singer with very annoying songs. And true musicians make good music regardless of their style. She might be an amazing singer technically, but her music is awful. How many records and concerts she sold is out of the topic. Don't measure music by the money.

  • @tangthebang lol wow. A fan of celine dion. How is that even possible?

  • @zabrak999 i don't know genius, why don't you ask the 2 hundred million people who bought her music?

  • @tangthebang lol ok. Britney Spears sold a lot too, doesn't mean she's good. Everything eddie said was true. Celine hasn't made a single album that is highly regarded at all. meanwhile Pearl Jam made a few albums that are considered to be amongst the best albums of all time.

Hey man, I guess Burger King food is some of the best food you can eat, since it sells well!

  • @zabrak999 considered by who, you? Music is completely subjective. I bet you twenty years from now, people will still remember Britney Spears. Are you saying because Cher, Barry Manillow, Bette Midler, Beyonce, Elvis, and countless number of other legendary artist didn't have a "highly regarded" album that their music is shit? And so what is it's highly regarded? Lauren Hill won 5 Grammy's for her solo album but where is she now?

  • @tangthebang

Considered by people with taste. No critic or any respectable source Dion's music to be good. The general public does not care for her, either. Same with Britney Spears, by the way.

To be a legend, you have to be highly influential and highly regarded, dip shit. Not just sell well.

And hey, there are a couple Elvis albums that are highly regarded. So try again with him.

I'm surprised your vapid mind is aware of who Lauren Hill is though, you surprised me with that mention.

  • @zabrak999 and you still didn't answer my question...where is Lauren Hill now? And what about all the other artist I mentioned? Whether you think Celine in influential or not important. She is and that's just a fact. Who do all the judges from all the Idol shows around the world and American Idol say are the top three female vocalist? Whitney, Mariah and CELINE.

  • @tangthebang and the general public cares about Pearl Jam? Really?! I have relatives in Vietnam that know who Britney is and I can guarantee has never heard of Eddie Vedder. you must be referring to critics from magazine like Rolling Stones right? why would rock guys right something nice about an adult contemporary artist? they're just a bunch of haters like you.
