Too expensive for the people. Less than 1/2 the price of traditional candles but much safer. Check out the demo video and "small steps". Candles are designed for Third World consumers hat are safer, inexpensive and environmentally friendly. An innovative concept that has the potential to prevent thousands of accidental candle fires. Make sure you visit Kevin's Kandles
The only idea a black African man is thinking is solar power lantern, aren't we pass anything lantern of any kind? why don't we ask for something better like solar power which will help small factories use their heavy machinery, small businessman like private hospitals to use their equipment to save lives, even ordinary trader who close his/ her store early to go home b'cos they have no electricity to operate their refrigerator,Internet and air condition, WHY don't we get a better deal like this?
A decent tubular kero lantern (like a $5 Dietz) would cost less than the electric lantern, would use the existing fuel, and would be safer and put out 2-4x the light.
Those lamps are not free! Those people will slave all of their lives enriching the companies that make those lamps.
What is wrong with going to sleep when darkness falls? Why do business owners want to stay open longer at night for? It sounds like these silly people enjoy slave work.
Welcome to the New World Order Africans! You and your grandkids will be slaves. Why did you refuse your ancient cultures of jungle life over this "development"? Big mistake.
what are you doing on the Internet if "development" is such a bad thing? Why should YOU have acces to computer and not Africans. Liberate yourself from the New World Order and start living without electricity.

But if our satellite from outer space gets smoke then we will loose electrical power. Kerosene is good for emergency back-up too.
