I became a fan of big country when i heard in a big country in the early 80s and now into my 40s i love them even more and they have been a part of my music life all these years!
I think he shunned exposure and publicity, he always looked far more comfortable with a guitar than a tv camera, and I admire him for that, and the band, what a great band, I always credit my luck to my daughter who got me back into Big Country, best band ever, always.
Wow. That was my first reaction upon hearing this version of one of my favorite songs. I got the link off of Gin Blossom's Facebook page, and I think I've listened to it about six times today already. I was a Big Country fan already, I have two of their CD's (of course it's the two well known ones, Big Country and The Buffalo Skinners, but still). But this rendition was terrific, Stuart sang it kind of differently, but just as effectively, and the unplugged thing works wonderfully. 10/10
I married a dunfermline girl lorraine cook who played stu's first hit in woolies... he came in and told her to stop playing it all the time...funny thing is I met Stuart in the 90's under my own daft circumstances and he was the same unasumming guy... there's nearly 25 years inbetween....I love my Dunfermline Girl
I remember chattin' with Stu back in 1996 in his pub in Dunfermline how much he loved Gin Blossom and we both agreed that their first album "New miserable experience" was one of the most complete and innovative record ever...how much we miss you Stu...r.i.p.

Thank you for sharing, wee KerPat! Another gem for my Patricia Playlist.
I'm getting so familiar with the many sounds of BC that I think I could pick them out in any musical line-up now!:D
