check the mix on my profile. An ungodly mixture of wonky beats, synth lazers, anime samples, scientific yet spiritual spoken word and basslines from the bubbling to the obscene. Cerebral, heavy-rolling and jaw-droppingly skilled, Calling All Gods is one hour and forty minutes of pure audio hypnosis. Featuring the likes of Samiyam, Digital Mystiks, Flying Lotus, Jamie Vexd, Dibiase, Ken Shiro, Dimlite and many many more.
im just gonna hope that 1 dislike is cause someone prefers the original and means no harm by that dislike.....or they sold themselves for love, suckkkkaa
AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I been lookin for this joint! They should've included this version on it too as a bonus track right after Go LADIES GO LADIES GO LADIES GO LADIES GO LADIES!!! This track always got me hype. I like the original too but that one u just vibe to it cuz the track's a lil more calm. Long live Baatin n Dilla Dogg! Would've loved to have heard another Jaylib album.
Dilla came so correct with the beat. The lyrics are almost just noise compared to the beat, cuz I'm digging the beat so hard! Man, he was one of the greatest beatsmiths in HipHop. R.I.P to a legendary producer!
@koenji71 Ptroduction values dead? Black Milk? Madlib? Flying Lotus? If any thing dudes stepped their game up. And let us not forget that pemo and Pete Rock aint dead yet
You make a fair point but personally speaking, as a 40 year old hiphop head, the chocolate boy wonder and Preemo were at their zenith 15 years ago. Deservedly their classics remain at the top of the genre.
Without getting into too much detail i worked with Jay dee and witnessed his genius first hand. I like the guys you mentioned. Madlib is interesting. But Dill Withers was on another level entirely :)

I don't care if it is dill-weed, that doesn't change the fact that this version sucks, destroys the subtle and intoxicating beat of the original. Also when they perform this song live it sounds like shit. Otherwise I would "dig it."
the thing ppl truly forget about dilla is how far his genius goes back..see alot ppl forget that he did all of Pharcyde's albums except for their last one...r.i.p. j. dilla...best eva!!!1
At the time, nobody really knows but it's confirmed. Such a troubled life too, with having Schizophrenia and now this. Now only one original member remains.
they just gonna keep knocking off the musicians that refuse to conform huh... pfft. rip baatin, hottest rapper out that camp 2 me, cuz he remained real at all timez
I have the test press of this on vinyl. The original and then this and the instrumental on the b-side. I was buying it for the instrumental for the original but hey.
