This might have been a bad call or it might have been racist, but for the sake of peace and sanity, give the artist and the paper benefit of the doubt here. OK, the cartoon wasn't racist at all. First of all the monkey doesn't depict Obama. Obama did NOT WRITE the stimulus bill people! He signed it. People like Pelosi and Obey wrote the bill not Obama, so if the monkey depicts anyone it depicts the Democratic Senate and Congress and the two WHITE people at it's center. The cartoon was also playing on a current event, the chimp that attacked the Conneticut woman the other day and was shot and killed.

Last time I checked, Congress wrote the bill. Those invoking racism and President Obama only see things in black and white, and that is their problem.

Actually, I thought it was pretty fucced up that he got a shoe thrown at him. Regardless of whether I liked him or not he was still our President and it shouldn't have happened. Jokes are fine.
