Finally, a robot mower that actually cuts grass. Those others may look cute but I have watched the vids repeatedly and cant see where the mower has been. This does the job nicely. Do you have a "How to make" video?
@basselete the 4 bolts that hold the mower to the green frame have wingnuts that I can easily pop out and then the black vertical connectors that hold the actual mower itself up, have holes drilled in it at varying heights.
@allanonmage 1 robot controller board (valued at $300) and 1 RC receiver (valued at $30) and a computer fan (valued at $20)..the wiring/switches didn't cost much but there's definitely an orchestra of circuitry in there..lol...I chose a tool box, mostly because it was durable, rugged, open/closeable, air tight (to keep the dust out) and had a perfect little spot for the switches to go in..
@beastlt12 for the tracks, just rip 1/2" pvc pipe long ways, and then cut those pieces to the final width of the tire or wider (mine are 4" wide) then drill some holes in it and screw them with 2" screws into the tires..(my tires are solid rubber) as far as the alternator goes, its 12V and im guessing 40W..but just adjust the pulleys/rpm to optimize amperage output as needed...Its all 'A' type belt/pulleys..(The drive pulley is 4.5"dia and the alternator pulley is about 3"dia..Thanks
@mina0sy0 Projects like this are Almost always done with Electric wheelchair motors. Ebay. If you know of any medical supply shops in your area, ask them. Sometimes they'll have wheelchair bases heading for the dumpster. You'd be surprised. I've got a wheelchair from goodwill for 65 bucks. Pretty sweet.
Great Job!!! Very impressive. Do you ave a parts list and a how to build video?
Thanks

Very nice job, very well done indeed, very clean lines and a low profile. Nice touch with the alternator to charge the batteries as it cuts grass.

I was about to ask about the wheels, then I saw the caption. lol. I still wish I could get a close up though.
How did you do/make the pvc tracks?
How did you choose an alternator? Doesn't it have to be a specific size depending on the number of rotations from the mower?
Excellent build! You can tell you took extra time for all the details. Congrats
