Cool anyone knows where I can get a premade led trigger mod kit for a psp 2000? If yes I'm looking for green LEDs. I want it so that I only have to solder the wires on to the MoBo and nothing else like preparing a sound mod
lol i made the same psp only mine is far more moded than yours mine does have led;s in the triggers but i also installed louder speakers in it and not to mention that i moded the hell out of it. (programing) newly designed xmb, it doesnt look near like the old xmb it was to boring and i change bootwave, bootsound, gameboot, designed my own xmb waves, customized music icons, designed my own visualizer, the list goes on.
not really. the leds require a small amount of power to work. i've never noticed a difference, unless your adding something like 16+ leds, which would affect the sound more than the battery. i would say four leds on each speaker would be fine.
You don't have to exactly solder to the powerboard, it depends on what kind of MOD you want to do, Direct Contact, is where you solder a wire to the Positive and Negative on the Speakers, and go to the LEDs... or you do a Sound board, which uses 191k and 30k resistors with an LM386 integrated curcuit. On the board you solder on speaker +, speaker -, +5 Volts, LED output, and ground... With that you can solder in the Wifi switch, so the switch turns on / off the LEDs.
See if you can get anybody to put custom firmware on it, so you can get free games and stuff, then it's DEFINITELY worth it, if not you can modify a battery for yourself, and just buy a bricked FAT PSP on Ebay for 50$, and there you go for under 90$ you have a custom firmware PSP to play homebrew, free games, and from deal extreme you can change the Case on the Fat PSP for 17$ free shipping to the US :] Good luck
He bought does from eBay.

Do you have any tutorial for this?, it seems more simple than soldering to the power board, which requires to dismantle all the psp.

this one was soldered to the speakers. it was my first mod so was a bit worried about doing anything extencive at the time.

thinking of getting blue faceplate will it look good with blue leds?
TheGreenDuck3000 3 years ago
i think it goes better that just adding them to a black faceplate. the leds don't stand out too much and don't completely take over the look.
