This is so tragic. I'm a convert from Roman Catholicism; I came to Orthodoxy because it is the True Church, but now it seems as if ecumenism is threatening it from within. As one elder has said, "Ecumenism is the great heresy of the 20th century."

Without fight, there is no victory ! Orthodoxy is a continuous fight against our own passions ! It is a continuous fight to keep the Love alive in our hearts ! To kill the love for ourselves but to keep alive the Love for the other souls ! I am sorry that you came in the middle of the fight !Get accustomed to ask GOD for help ! Choose a good spiritual father who is against ecumenism and be awake all the time ! Read the teachings of the Holy Fathers, GOD !

But which one?!! They split, and split even more, anathematized one another... They are in schism or the rest of the Orthodox Churches, the New calendar and the Old churches including Russian, Holy Mount, etc. in communion with them, are in schism. Tough call, don't you think :-)

1.) Because this is not true at all. The Romanian Old Calendarists which were founded by St. Glicherie are in Communion with ALL OTHER OLD CALENDARISTS from Bulgaria and Greece etc...

2.) Theses Old Calendarists WERE also in Communion with the ROCA and also with the Patriarch of Jerusalem - he always supported the Old Calendarists.

3.) In Schism - sorry but who are the Schismatics? Those who keep the faith or those who changed it?

It is well known that the Monks from Mount Athos ARE STRICTLY AGAINST the Ecumenism of Constantinopel for example.

The New Calendar Churches (not all of them) ARE MOST TIME FULL OF INNOVATION AND MODERNISM - that is a FACT: Especially the Greek Church:

PEWS, NEW CALENDAR, ORGANS, NO PROSTRATIONS, IMMODEST CLOTHING etc...

This can not be called "orthodox" - they have lost Orthodoxy! They are the schismatics.

The Calendar is peripheral: the Tradition Orthodox must keep close to the Holy Scriptures (many forget this!), especially the Gospels, and come to know our Saviour Christ intimately - asking Him to fill us daily with His Holy Spirit in the Baptism of tears (Symeon the New Theologian). He will then guide us in these difficult times!

Am cunoscut personal acest Parinte in primavara anului asta la Manastirea Putna,sunt din Gorj si nici nu am stiut ca a fost la manastirea Lainici,avea 90 si ceva de ani,om chinuit la viata lui am inteles ca a fost ranit grav in razboi si acum sa retras la putna sa se odihneasca vejnic,acolo la el acasa,un om dee milioane.

Watch this video! Father Adrian also speaks that the leaders of the church will lead the people into heresy and ecumenism! so stand up and fight for orthodoxy! Everyone has to be the innovations and modernisation! Follow the old calender, put away the pews and chairs,in usa they even have organs in orthodox churches!Read the church fathers ! Let us pray that God save us!!

When Father Adrian, Cleopa, Iustin, Arsenie, Staniloaie, Elder Paisius, Elder Ephraim and all the other fathers say we should follow the Old Calendar we will. Not even one said that, we are in communion with the Old Calendar Churches. You're like a broken record...

I remember watching on French TV not so long ago this Catholic priest who came from Romania to fill the vacant positions in our parishes. Is the situation that bad in Romania, with clergy moving to the West en masse?

Yes because this Elders thout that the church will return once but you see that the church not returns to old calender but is inovating and inovating strange things to orthodoxy!!!

I was in romania I know for example the Neamt monastery very well!!But you cannot deny the facts!!

St. glicherie had a vision of Christ where he saw the orhodox bishops going to west and uniting with the church!!

Do you know that god send many signs and miracles furing and after the change of the calender??

1924 appeared a cross of light over Athen thousend of people witnessed it!!Also St. John of Romania is confessor of the old calender he completly incorrupt!!

May God save us!!But ecumenism has entered the romanian church-they follow the papal calender first step into ecumenism,than they put chairs and pews in the temples , the priests shave their beards and cut their hair, and so on orthodox become more and more catholic..

No one claims the change of the Calendar was good. But that's about it! All the Elders you've seen in the videos choose to fight Ecumenism from WITHIN the Church!

As far as the pews, shaven priests, etc. you may want to visit the Monasteries in Romania. You may want to listen to what Elder Ephraim of Filotheu, now in Arizona, has to say about it. Google:pigizois panagopoulos
