Its been awhile but i did find a few of the secret areas, and i did some side quests, dunno about the bosses though, the reason i did it so quickly, was because my friend said i couldn't and i wanted to prove him wrong lol, I left him speechless ;]

IMO, nothing really rivals FF-VII, but this is definately one of the top games of the 21st century.

Maybe I'm just nostalgic about it.

This was an amazing game, but I don't think it can rival FF7. FF7 set the bar pretty high for all RPG's.

I understand that way back in 1997 when it was released it was a multi-million dollar masterpiece of three dimensional technology on display. But that doesn't mean that it still remains relevant compared to current day RPGs, and do you mean RPG's in general or specifically JRPGs?

I'm just curious, no harm intended.

Plus, I own three copies of FF7. So I definitely don't hate the game, but I don't see where the bar is between it and modern RPGs.

I am sorry, we are misunderstanding each other.

Obviously Lost Odyssey surpasses FF7 in every category of technology (i.e. sound and graphics engines).

Since all modern games surpass the old ones we had so much fun playing, I compare them not on graphics and sound, but on how much fun I had playing them.

So, when I played FF7 I had a level 8 amount of fun, out of 10.

Where as with Lost Odyssey I only had a 6 or 7.

That is what I meant.

(Oh and those numbers were arbitrary lol)

@Absoluteresolution Hehe the urge to answer overrides the fact that this is a 2 years old comment: It was revolutionary for the time. Cinematics, polygons and stuff. Much has happened since, but being the first good rpg with these groundbraking features, makes the memory of it so much grander. ...plus it got Sephiroth.

characters in LO seems more real (even though they are immortals) to me than any FF games so far. LO is just like FF but not FF at the same time. Kaim and Jenson are probably the best character in JRPG for me so far.

Well I like to put nostalgia aside. If this game were to have reduced graphics (to the level of FF7) and were released at the same time, I wouldn't give a shit about FF7. This IMO is the superior game.
