  • Two completely different songs, and they both suck anyway.

  • @frostedhead then why dafuq are you here? GTFO

  • I thought this was going to be a mashup remix video... "Chuck Testa"

  • the movie wanted Huey lewis to do the song he said no so they got ray parker to do it they stoled it from Huey lewis he should get all the money from both songs

  • i heard that parker sued lewis for talking about the settlement

    anyone know what lewis said?

  • Ive mixed M-pop muzik and Huey lewis and the news check it out

  • They were both pretty similar to M's "Pop Music" from 1979.

  • @Suckerfly True. The similarity between Parker Jr. and Lewis is just too obvious IMO though. 'Ghostbusters' sounds a lot more like 'Pop Music' than 'I Want A New Drug' as well, so I'm gone give Huey the benefit of the doubt...

  • Oh and don't forget the Estate of the late Jimi Hendrix for the riff at the end ole Huey.. Listen to "I want A New Drug" especially at the end, it's a Sendoff of "Purple Haze" ... By Jimi Hendrix. I wonder if they got permission to put that into the song..Hmmm...

  • RAY MUST HAVE GOTTEN HIS LAWYER OFF ONE OF THOSE LATE-NIGHT TV COMMERCIALS HE SHOULDN'T HAVE GIVEN HUEY A FREAKIN' DIME THEY BOTH SHOULD HAVE BEEN SUED BY M (POP MUSIC) THAT'S WHERE THEY BOTH STOLE THEIR GROOVES FROM

  • damn, dirty ass thief ! ! !

  • I can't hear it

  • It's the same song, but Ray just took it up that extra notch and turned a good song into a truly great song. Royalties should go: 50:50 I think!

  • These songs should be played on top of each other, either in their entireties or in together in parts of these two sick songs.

  • Somebody needs to mash-up these songs.

  • hey.. where can I hear them both at the same time on this new dang thingy youtube?

  • huey sued and won(well settled out of court so he still won)

  • yeah but he went against the agreement so Rat Parker Jr sued him back ahaha. Ghostbusters is a better song anyways. I mean come on i wouldn't even know Huey's version if there hadn't been a lawsuit lol.

  • u sure on that

and i cant believe no one else has commented this after a month lol

  • lol yeah. (and sorry for the typo on Ray* my b. he's not a rat) Huey Lewis is a legend and I did know his song but it definitely doesn't have the same lasting effect on me that ghostbusters did. Whenever I hear ghostbusters I feel like dancing or bobbing my head to the beat no matter what the situation time or place. whenever i hear Huey's idk it's good but doesn't cause me to feel uplifted in the same way Lol..

  • Actually...I think it might be possible that Huey Lewis stole the beat from al green's "you say it" there is a def similarity. Not the chords...but yeah lol. It's at least possible.

  • your not joking its there alright:

and later on queen took it for "invisible man"

  • it just never ends lol..post a video with all those.. maybe ppl other than me will comment on it.

  • wish i could post but i cant: believe id b postin more than just that: i could post like 20 vids or more on rip offs:

  • @mwhita Then you musta been living under a rock in the mid-eighties! Huey's version was played so much it became one of those songs that comes to mind that you can't get outa your head for a whole day...like Girls Just Wanna Have Fun or Like A Virgin. Musical equivalent of WATERBOARDING!

  • @chefpetey you wouldn't know ray parker song if Huey lewis did not have his he should be ever to say what ever he wants about the the theft and his song

  • @DEATHEXISTFOREVER GOOD!!! ;)
