My feelings on Dobby changed so much as the series progressed. When I first read 'Chamber of Secrets,' I didn't like him, and thought he was obnoxious. Then, as he appeared more and more often in the series, he started to grow on me, until finally, the heroic death and quiet burial of that meek, brave little elf in 'Deathly Hallows' did something that no other death in the series did: It brought tears to my eyes.
