  • Wish his number could retire !

  • He is a great Puerto Rican Representative to the game of baseball. To me, in the same vein and class as Roberto Clemente and Edgar Martinez. A true class act.

  • He speaks such good english for someone born in Puerto Rico. 1:33 <33

  • If I recall, even though he was born in P.R., he was raised mostly in Miami.

  • I think it actually DOES weigh more than Pedroia!! :)

  • Trying to catch my breath! T.T I love him soooo much! He's awesome! Glad we resigned him!

  • Red Sox placed third baseman Mike Lowell on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right oblique.

Lowell suffered the injury Tuesday night and was placed on the DL after undergoing an MRI exam Wednesday morning. Given the nature of oblique injuries he's far from a sure thing to return in 15 days, leaving the Red Sox with Kevin Youkilis at third base and Sean Casey at first base for at least the remainder of the month.

  • Hes a class act player and person

  • gotta love lowell

  • I think its cool how hes from Puertorico, i guess thats a good role model for some people from over there, now that not many people are.

  • Actually I believe he is from Cuba.

  • Not hes from Puerto Rico..hes father was a well know player in the local league.... think hes grandfather was Cuban though

  • Okay people, here's how it goes. Mike was born in Puerto Rico, his dad was born in Cuba, and his grandfather is German but moved to Cuba. His name would be Lowell-Voyt, but when his grandfather moved to Cuba he dropped the "Voyt". So there you have it, Mike Lowell is Puerto Rican, Cuban, German, and he's also Irish(I assume from his mother's side).

  • Nice job...interesting...but I think when U ask someone from were he is..his answer will be from the place he was born and raised..not from were his grandparent were...In my case Im born and raised in Puerto Rico..my Mother is from Dominican Republic and my dad´s father from Scotland..but Im puertorrican...thats what I am and how I feel..the same thing with Lowell whos father, even though Cuban, established himself in PR and represent PR internationally...he even beat Cuba as pitcher.

  • yes he has

  • He hit .324 just last year, I'm no mathematician, but I believe that passes for over .300

  • Mike lowel's sitster in law is my brothers teacher and is coming 2 his class @ the end of the year! (2008) He rules. I even have an autographed baseball of him woth the marlins!

  • Hey thats really cool, He's my uncle's (by marriage) nephew and he throws us a bone every once in a while with some autographed balls and even gave my cousin (his cousin and godfather) a golden glove!...it's crazy.

  • We love Mike Lowell....We wish him the best of luck and achievements with the Red Sox, Mike is a great player and always underrated he is a lot better than most people think....

We truly miss him very much, I am a Marlins fan..

    Go Lowell go Marlins!

  • I love Mike! :)

  • obviously you don't know how to play baseball. Maybe you're stupid though.

  • are you kidding me??? he had the most RBI of any red sox third baseman in franchise history. how can you get RBI if you can't hit? you can't!!! mike lowell is awesome.

  • He is the greatest. I'm sooooooo glad the Sox resigned him.

  • RESIGN LOWEELLL!!!!!!!!1
