wow this is so beautiful. I wonder if the same luster dust can be mixed with buttercream to give it a gold color. I am trying to make scrolls on a Christmas cake order but not sure what to use in my buttercream that will give a gold color and be edible.
@Zarabakes I don't know if it can be mixed with buttercream but you can paint it onto fondant, you mix the luster with a little bit of clear imitation vanilla extract (regular might discolor it because it's brown) or vodka, then use a small clean brush to paint on. You can't do that on buttercream, I've heard, it will melt the frosting. You might consider making your scrolls in white chocolate ahead of time, brushing them with the luster, then pressing them onto the frosting?
I know this is probably gonna sound stupid, but can you actually eat the luster dust?!
