  • i'm still listening to this sone, absolutely AMAZING, love it love it <3

    greetings from serbia!

  • this wasnt that bad honestly for last place surely, it was excellent but still should have been a lot higher, some countrys didnt even belong it final and got beter placings than this the painful ear pircing vocals of azerbiajan got a beter result wft lol, and bosnia lol what the hell where they on when singing their entry im sure they where as high as a kite on weed!

  • I do not understand...25th place?Oh Please...this is soul music with quality,too much quality for ESC,so he deserved the top 5 for me,and he should be the winner,why not?This is fresh,funny,happy it makes me dance.I saw ...and i couldn`t believe...25th place,Jury?Please give me a break!!!Grretings from Portugal!!!

  • just admit it, its coz he's black enit.

  • Heej, i remember this one! My favorite for that year! and...as i recall it didn't got the points it should've gotten.

  • Racism in eurovision this is a tuuuune 10 times better than blue yet this man hardly got any votes its a joke.

  • This is one of the best songs i've ever heard, im 14 years of age and ive been listening to it since its been on the eurovision. 97 people should be ashamed of themselves for disliking it, i think he done the country proud for singing as well as he did, he has an amazing voice. i think the people that have dis-liked it are jealous!!

  • @TheHannah07833 its probably becuase they are either yugoslavian or russian, azeri, belarusian, ukrainain, georgian lol

  • This deserved to be ranked higher than it was.

  • cracking song and performance he done us all proud and was shafted for it!!! well done andy!!!!!!!!!! :)

  • the stage in Serbia was one of the best to date

  • and the bbc thought dustin the turkey was bad?

  • This was the first year we took it seriously, are all Europeans except the British deaf? This song should of been the winner!!

  • @AshtonFergie We're still talking about Eurovision here. This song for me was too American and we all know everything they produce there is for the purpose to make money.

  • @Estonian4life hun it's called soul music not americanised trash

  • @AshtonFergie Not deaf just racist mate, i agrree with you mate great song andy sang it well too unlike tonight where every one in blue sang weakly and out of tune.

  • I don't blame Wogan for hanging up his cloak after we come last? i think? with this. Europe are actually a joke. Im not bitter, but there's no way we'll ever win again. Yes, last years was bad, But this deserved a lot better, the crap other countries submit is truly awful!

  • Would have done better with tele/jury vote! The turkish jury gave this 8p!

  • @BurnedWithDesire1 :O im turkish :S this suckked tho tbh

  • @00gazvanim Im turkish too and if this sucked mate i have not been listening to music for 30 years this is pure heartfelt soul music good honest stuff unlike some of the stupid rubbish that comes through every year on that crazy competition . azerbaycans song tonight was brilliant and they totaly deserved to win.

  • at least ireland didn't betray us and gave us 8 points. bring back san marino, they gave us 6 points, so we can rely on them!

  • this song is the best we'd submitted in a while, and when we can be fucked to do so to please eastern europe we score shit.

You can't have it both ways

  • this shoudlve won that. but why every one didnt like this then

  • Well, I liked the song a lot - very catchy and groovy. And Andy did it justice. He's a really great performer. Can't imagine why it didn't get into the top few!

  • This song should have been in the top 10 because Andy was runner up in the X Factor. I wonder what Simon had to say

  • This is the most awful song in the history of eurovision!!! no wonder we keep losing it's just soooooo boring. michelle gayle's song was a hundread and fifty billion times better and actually would have got us some points for a change!!! oh my jesus!!!! i really can't believe the 'tune deaf' british public would actually put this guy through. just because you like the person doesn't mean they have a good voice, it's a singing competition not jeremy kyle it's about the voice not the sob story!!!

  • @tom52495 the worst song in the history of eurovision? have you seen some of the CRAP other countries have submitted and still got higher than us?! Get over it, everyone hates us.

  • @TeamSatsChannel there's songs that have won that are so much worse than this... for example estonia 2001 was shocking, sweden 1999 as well, i could go on... this song proved that block voting made the contest stink

  • europe...what is wrong with you. yes, kalomira and ani lorak were very good, but this was miles better than russia. it's energetic and fun, and what is russia? just a simple ballad??? shocking.

  • Surprised this one didn't do well. It is actually good.

  • Just noticed something.................doesn't this sound a lot like Sidnney Youngblood..........I think it was called If Only I Could.......even the vocals are very similar.

  • we should kepp sending the good vibes..fuck the dirty racist eastern euro filth

  • His performance was really good, and the song was OK..........certainly not useless. I may be wrong, but I think it came last, which it definitely didn't deserve. However, a bit of trivia here.....apparently it totally bombed in the UK charts.....the worst ever position for a Eurovision entry......scraping into the top 100.

Therefore the British public certainly didn't buy into it......nor did the media, as I cannot recall it being played on the radio. Having said that, none of our entries do !

  • This song is pretty good. Better than 2009's and certainly better than 2010's. Way to go andy. Great voice.

  • LOL our song for this year is SOOOOOOO CHEESY! but amazing :L

  • i quite liked this song as it was quite catchy, no i proberly think it wasnt the best that year but it didnt deserve the low score it got.

    BRING ON EURO 2010

  • I really don't know why people think this is bad...I totally love it !!! =)

  • Aother crap song submitted by us... -sigh-

  • 1:11 the best

  • /watch?v=fhhRioBATxg

    /watch?v=fhhRioBATxg

  • even i'm english and through it was crap, norway/ukraine/russia was miles better!

We did deserve to come late!

  • @neil22100 what does it matter of you are English?

  • Hes a great singer he just hasn't shown his full potential in eurovision, This song genre isn't his type. I mean he came 2nd in the Xfactor yet he made us come last in 2008 eurovision or second last.

  • A black guy named andy. Well, na ive seen it all. Pox!

  • @Duvoo asshole!

  • @MrEurocat Na I ain't.

  • old fashioned but nice voice and beat. still old fashioned and dull! Terry Wogan is responsible for that tragedy and i'm glad he realised it and resigned.

  • Finally, this year the good sense is back with the jury. Televoters from all over Europe were making this contest the unfairest one with very poor taste. As Unsquaro said, MUSIC is starting to be taken into account again.

  • This really wasn't bad, I thought this was really good, million times better than Scooch. Seriously underrated! we were robbed!

  • The song was really good, very nice tune. And it sure deserved a better place. Too bad that till last year voting was rather politically motivated. Anyway, 12 points from Greece!

  • I love this! He deserved a better place!

  • Steady yourselves, it wasnt that

bad, and look at gemini, they

    were awful! get over yourselves,

    this isnt BAD.

  • fucking hellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

UK gone shit head by choosing this song and this rubbish singer.................

what the fuck gone wrong with UK? i thought there is great talents but look at this.............shit..

  • Well switzerland arent exactly gold in the history of Eurovision..

  • This song was rubbish. If no one in the UK brought the song, why the hell did we expect viewers from Estonia, Sweden or Armenia to vote for it? There's no such thing as "political voting" Bad performances do badly, Good performances do well. Aesthetics and Promotion help a lot too. Hence why Jade did brilliantly this year and came fifth and this guy came joint last in 2008. Simple.

  • I agree.

  • @SarcasticGenius no political voting does happen and i've also noticed countries with high numbers of ethnic groups in it give their countries votes like the way Eastern european countries vote for Turkey cough Ottoman Empire cough or the way middle european countries vote for Germany cough Shit scared of them cough

  • My God, that was really crap - no wonder we came last.

Terry Wogan said "Best entry for years" - yeah, it sure was...

  • It's sad. But the new voting system is great! Also, I think that UK seems a bit secluded from Europe. But Jade has gone 'touring' - i think - to help people focus on the MUSIC.

  • this song is amazing...andy is amazing :) he didn't deserve to come last.

  • If it wasnt for the stupid unfair voting i think we could couldve won. Andy is brilliant the song is brilliant and it's not too cheesy!! What is there not to love?

At least we were 5th in 2009

  • I love his voice! Sounds like Tom Jones!

  • I think the point has been proven in 2009. UK= 5th, France = 8th. At last a fair result! I hope this will be the end to the farcical voting!!!

  • Seriously- if all the European countrys didn't hate the UK we might have actually won lol

  • dis sucks this yr it's sooo much betta dis is a fuckin piece of shit

  • I came here because someone posted the link on response to Omawumi - Idols West Africa Top 8.

Here is what I think: I do not know a lot about Eurovision, but I think the singer was picthy at the beginning.

Yes there are a lot of vibe and joy during the show, but the singer did not blow my mind.

He was an average singer compare to what I have seen to win an international singing competition

I am African (cameroonian ) by the way.

  • Then check out what actually WON this contest. The singer that won, Dima Bilan cannot sing well in English.

    Do a youtube search for

Dima Bilan 2008 Believe Final Eurovision

    Compare that to this.

This came Last. Dima came 1st.

  • This would have won us the contest if people didn't like the country.

  • It's true that Eurovision, actually, is ruled by politics. But this song is very "Eurovisive", like Abba ones, or Israel's winner Dana Internacional. I don't like it 'cause i have another style, but it's a great eurovision song, and i'm surprised that don't have enough support.

  • i wish people would stop staying that the UK don't win cos of politics, although you have less political allies than Russia, Serbia and Sweden, at least you have Ireland and Malta! Think of places like Romania, who likes them? And they do better.

This was just a dated song which would have still been in the same position if was representing Russia. He is a very good singer, but the dancing? The set up? The performance? Embarrassing. Jade will do better,

  • I have to say I agree.

People often talk about individual aspects like the song, but what really counts is the performance as a whole.

    When taken as a whole, this performance just doesn't seem right;

Who chose that hideous colour scheme?

Why are the backing group so spaced out they look as if they aren't even playing together?

Who insisted Andy sing like a Robbie Williams impersonator at a wedding?

The song isn't bad, but it was never going to win when performed like this...

  • *The band is placed so that they semicircle Andy.

*I loved the colour sceme. Suits the lively atomsphere the song generates.

*And I really don't understand what you mean by the Robbie Williams thing.

  • Just you watch- Jade will get us zero points. If not that, then you can bet she won't do half as well an Andy.

  • this is rubbish...

    0 from Romania,we were in 2008,not 1978!

  • @esc4all Rich, coming from you -your entry this year could be from 1978!

  • The UK will never come 1st again i don't think. Winning for us would be like coming in the top 5 or something respectable like Norway did last year. This song was pure shit. It's like something you would hear at the end of Blackpool Pier - reminds me of Kid Creole and The Coconuts! Embarrassing!! We deserved to come last!!

  • he done us all very proud, you cant knock the effort he put in its just europe dont like us and we dont like them! it was a very good performance

  • Comment removed

  • and that's why we never win!

  • This work it plagiarism with belgian song in eurovision 2007!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • omg all our entries are terrible.we're getting people we've never even heard of to sing the songs , like scooch and the 29009 entry like who the fuck are these people?

In my opinion we should get Take That to do eurovision, at least almost everyone knows who they are, and they have more talent.

  • You're not allowed to have anyone who's reached the top 40 in the country they're in. Otherwise we'd just pick really popular songs, or like Sweden would enter with Basshunter or something.

  • oops

didn't know that lol, seems like an odd rule though...

  • Rubbish. ANY ARTIST AT ALL can represent ANY COUNTRY at Eurovision.

However the SONG must not have been publically performed before a specific date in October the previous year.

For example the original Hungary selection for this year has had to be disqualified because it was performed publically before the specific October date, so another act and song will go in thier place.

  • she dropped oiut because she had theatre things to do at the same time...

  • No, before HER a MALE singer was voted to represent Hungary but it had to be disqualifeid .

From esctoday "The previously reported Hungarian entry by Mark Zentai, found on his latest album Nem Éleg and written by a Swedish composer Figge Boström withdrew due to it being released before 1st of October 2008. "

  • andy is awesome, he should of got more votes

  • This year will be better saying we get a say in who we want but if its the twins we have no chance !

  • Compared to other entries this song was good, deserved making the top half

  • it was terrible

to be honest i was totally embarrassed by his drunk uncle kinda dancing and the rrreaaally cheap song. and horrible outfit. =)

hopefully 2009 will be more successful.

  • i still dont know why terry wogan liked this entry so mutch. i still today believe that he used his vote to secure andy to eurovision weven though michelle gayle probably won by a large margin..well now he is gone for good.. thank god

  • the UK should have sent Michelle Gayle in 2008. lets hope you make the rght decision this year and send Jade Ewen to Moscow!!

  • 2009 will be better for the united kingdom go jade you should win

  • yeha jade ewen to eurovision. andy was a disaster..

  • That was a greeeeeat song!...why the others didnt voted 4 him...thats terrible...he didnt deserve the last place...!!!

  • i totally agree with the lot of u i think it was a great performance by andy he did a great job it is just a shame that OTHERES dont think the same as we do thats because they no we are better than them and anyway i think ireland did a great song as well i got the joke did u i thank the irish for taking the mick out of the eurovision because they no they wont get any were good on them i think we should follow them what u think

  • man i was dissapointed when the song was in last place, Andy was awesome and the song catchy, its actually our best song for quite a while however, it was at the lowest because of politics. i didnt like the winning song.

Eurovision is not fun anymore :P

  • Spot on, Andy gave an outstanding performance to a good song.... i think we should be like our German cousins and just take the pee out of it.

  • A really good song =D 12 points from Spain ^^

  • Canzone brutta, non avrebbe passato la semifinale... Nel 2009 sarà sufficiente far scrivere il pezzo ad Andrew Lloyd Webber?

  • Terry Wogan said he wont be doing the commentry next year because it's gotten (in his words) 'a bit too political' and Graham Nortom is going to do it...BUT

They're not leaving the vote totally to the public next year! They're going to have a jury which decides...I think 25% of the vote (but that hasn't been confirmed)

Hopefully, even though the political issue wont fuly be resolved, that the ESC will take a turn for the better next year...but UK still wont win cus of politcal reasons

  • I'm sorry, but you can't blame it on politics in this case, because this choice wasn't very good at all. I hope you guys get someone better next year

  • But do you really think it deserved last place?

And do you really honestly think Russia's song was the best song in the whole competition?

  • No, it didn't deserve last, I think it deserved SOME credit for trying, unlike Spain.

Also, I'm Armenian, but I didn't like Russia's song or singer, I personally don't think it deserved first.

  • The Spanish song was the best one. Spanish people chose the song for the contest and we decided to take that song as a jocke to say "okey, we are going to loose anyway coz we are not in the east of europe, so let's get the worst song and this time will be the last ones but we'll deserve it". and this year i would vote for a drunk monkey to represent my nation.

  • NOOO!...that song was a piece of crab...i dont know why he won...

  • why didnt this win. russias song freaking sucked. just because it was of a dying kid people felt sad and guilty not to vote for it; thats why it won.

if they wanted a slow song, israel had a good one. it was catchy and united the peoples.

  • They won because of political reasons. That's why next year each country is going to be represented by judges rather than have the public vote.

  • they didnt vote the song because of the lyrics being about a dying kid its because every other country in the eu is scared of russia apart from the united kingdom. The UK should pull out of Europe its holding us back were to big for Europe, its just a big pact to protect little shit countrys.

  • Did England got a free pass to the finals or something?

  • hahaahaaaa

  • yes the UK always gets a free pass to the final becuause as one of the big 4 they pay more than others to fund the contest.

It's immoral but it is the truth.

  • Yeah we do every year as one of th big 4 we pay the most for TV rights to help fund the contest.

We see eurovision as a bit of a joke... as you can see, haha!

  • The voters are officially idiots. Why this song ended up at last place is beyond me and it just shows the decline of civilisation

  • sooooooooooo underated!

  • wooo this song is awesome!

  • The fact people think that song deserved more than last place is laughable. That would have finished last with a jury. Since Jessica Garlick all the UK entries have been crap.

  • even if we had like leona lewis in this, we woould still come dead last

  • Yup, this show isnt about the songs anymore, but the diplomatic statuses. Since we only have ireland next to us, no one really votes for us.

  • And guess what I just heard? Terry Wogan has quit prsenting it because he's fed up of it aswell. Graham Norton is apparently presenting it next year.

  • lol thats cos we dnt lyk the countries next door

  • i agree

  • I think we are one of the only countries that vote with our hearts and not the fact that we like the country next door!!

  • If you remove every Eastern European country, or even just every ex-Soviet nation, the results barely change. Greece would have got first instead of third, but Britain would still have been well down. Russia's entry was cheesy, but this is guilty of a worse Eurovision crime - it's incredibly bland.

  • check these videos and let your singers learn what the vocal is.

    /watch?v=r3yfFOq_CFQ&feature=related

    /watch?v=YjO_VXHxsRw&feature=related

    /watch?v=Se1FFJjrsrw&feature=related

  • You mean like this?

    watch?v=n8g6Tqqc6DQ

    watch?v=rkOX346oLIo

    watch?v=s3kAsUB6nFA

And we also start them young. This singer was 7 when she did this

    v=c4fM0fByLKA

  • sorry, i haven't time. the next time.

  • Though it'll never happen, the UK should send Madonna as a UK participant in the EUROVISION SONG CONTEST. If the East can use it's celebrities to win the contest, why not the West and the UK? Madonna would be too good for Eurovision, and if she were to even participate, it's a given that EVERYONE starts crying foul because Madonna is a international megastar and her status would win it the contest. But, it's a CONTEST!!! One does what it can to win.

  • yeh but shes american

and besides europe dont vote for uk especially france because no other countries like us anymore

it would not make a difference

    its very sad tho :(

  • england will win next ESC 2009. Mr.Putin will vote for england singer, Putin promised:)

  • He has such a wonderful voice, his single "Hang up" is one of my fave songs of the last few years but this song is AWFUL. Why did they waste such a great talent on such a bad song ? It didn't deserve to do well at Eurovision. It's time we had a new album from Andy. I want to hear some new material from him.

  • Ftw.. A real englishman?! LOL!

  • black people are english too

just because all the grotty eastern european countries have no black people

    racists the lot of you

thats why the only points for the uk came from the west

  • Really??!?!

  • Andy (the singer) was BORN and raised in England. He has lived in Britain all his life to my knowledge. How much more "English" do you want?

  • I had NEVER seen a BLACK englishman.

  • This is another black English singer, Lemar

    watch?v=0K3QXZDmk-s

Also there is a black woman singer, Estelle

Check out Estelle American Boy. She is English but he is American.

    watch?v=yweinNywpOM

And Leona Lewis is an English born mixed race(half black half white) female singer

    watch?v=hs7lJZy6Ed4

  • also check out

javine touch my fire a black english born woman at eurovision 2005

  • Yes, but she is fuckable. ;)

  • i cant believe anyone in the UK would defend this song. if this was released as a single who would buy it? it wouldnt even chart yet we let it represent us in Europe. what a joke! i love when terry says "unfortunatley you cant vote for it" dont worry tel lad, we wouldnt want to!! Pure Sh*te!!!

  • It was released as a single and i bought the video of it from iTunes. And I am English.

It did make the top 100 but not the top 40.

  • just proves my point then dosnt it.

  • ı hate thıs song but ı lıke uk

  • yeach

  • I thing the song was ok!

    Very groovy...

  • you wont win eurovision with a song like this

  • Or with fixed voting.

  • and you can talk sending that pile of crap "we are the winners" oh no you werent when your measly entrants can win 5 times and come second 15 times then you can dare to bask in our glory

  • Me and my friend, think that England was just EMBARISSING this year!

  • and since when did england ever enter eurovision? i suppose you are english as thats the kind of people that forget about scotland wales and northern ireland, the U.K enter eurovision

  • Tele-voting was introduced to eurovision in 1997 and the UK won in 1997 with a good song, second in 1998 with a good song as well. By the early 2000s, nearly every country has a televote and in 2002 the UK were third. So you can't completely blame political-voting in the last place of the UK this year.

  • Come on! This song WAS rubbish and I believe it deserve one of the last places. There were many better songs out there, from countries that do not get political votes, like the Caucasian countries who only have up to 3 neighbours, and yes, there is political voting , for example, Russia, but if we sent in a good song we will get points!

  • Hi,song is ok but the guy in back sing beter from Andy, just listen carefully.

    Best regards from Belgrade,Serbia.

  • Not the best song!

    But its Ok!

    Pretty good

  • yh it's good but you see even if we entered the best song known to man (bohemian rhapsody?) we would still not win because of the talentless countries shameful polirical voting.

  • I love andy, hes soo cute.

He did real good he must of had fun at least

  • Euroision is pointless, its always fixed to Politics, we (UK) never do well no matter how hard we try as we are always politically involved in some kind of conflict. Sir Terry Wogan is considering quitting, some only watch the competition for his amusing comments anyway.

  • Look at this song's views on YouTube: Views: 161,253 - and then, look at the other songs's views. Some of them are over three million views. This song could never get at top 10

  • it should have won. It was the best song. From Spain.

  • Belgium gave 12 points for Armenia again, come on this can't be taken serious anymore!? Many Belgians like the song for the UK. Our voting is just not representative anymore for the taste of the Belgians...

When our performers and our broadcasting crew arrived back from Belgrade, they said it isn't a song contest anymore and also we're not the losers because if it goes on like this the contest will probably destroy itself...

  • I'l be honest, I don't think song would of won but we certainly didn't deserve last.. ¬_¬

  • As a Dane and a music lover I must express the disappoint I felt when this song hit rock bottom. This is such a good song, and I belive that it could have been in top 5 atleast if it wasnt because of all the political voting, and who knows what has been going on, under the desks of the judges.

  • As it was decided entirely in the final by phone votes from other countries, bribes are not the issue.

The problem is it is has not been a song contest it has been an artist fan contest.

Dima is well known in Eastern Europe and Andy is not known outside the UK and Ireland.

  • this was actually a very good song, one of the very best, this year (one of my favourites). I don't understand why it placed so low... I was expecting it to be one of the potential winners. But then again... where's the surprise?

  • Andy was by far the best vocalist in the whole competition

  • Will anyone else not be watching if Terry Wogan doesn't present the show again?

  • bloody hell when will the eurovision get its act together and vote for songs that deserve it... GO ANDY!!

  • I think it's great!

It makes me happy and it's definatly UK's best song since 2004!

  • This was worst song :/ I thought it would be good cos it's UK!

  • Im Irish and I think the eurovision has become a complete disaster and does not benefit island countries. In my opinion it should be axed coz it just isnt working!

  • IrishCritic, speak for youself. Your country has won it loads of times - my favourite is Johnny Logan 'What's another year?' - and in case you haven't noticed, Eire is an 'island country'.

    You paddys rock!

  • omg what a load of s**t

im not even watching it .

  • Then you're an idiot
