Banksy is a sell out.

He is, what he is against. He was against "brand-alism" and commercialism when he himself is a brand, a common household name.

Whilst i have nothing against Banksy, people need to realise that he isn't a graffiti artist anymore, just an artist. He lost his respect from his own sub-culture when his work was protected by the council with perspex, effectively making it no different to an advertisement.

Putting up a fight of freedom of expression against another freedom of expression is redundant. Unlike the advertisements that were forced to look at 100 times a day, neither of these artists FORCE you to look at their stuff, so look away if you dont like it. Simples!

last nite i watched a documentry about grafity street art of robbo and banksy i think they both brilliant, bt at the end it told me that robbo had bin attacked with serious head injurys and resulted in him bein in a comma wot has happened to him now has he died o is he ok now. @TheCrunchymango no one knows.. anything about him. so i can't say if he steals the work, or not. or free hands it, and neither can you... but my point is the effort and drive and passion he has is amazing. the ideas and spots and places he hits and how he does it unforgetable. it takes alot of balls to pull it off thats why i give him props. but your saying his ideas and work arent his? they're tweaked in a "Banksy" way. such as obey?.. reguardless i love his work.

@kycurle295 dude thats just it man he's more real because the "shit" is putting is is art with a message NOT JUST GRAFFITI. Most of that graffiti yeah it looks cool... But what does it mean? Most of "that" is just the artist making a design... Its fun to look at but banksy is original in the sense that he is trying to get you thinking with his work. Thats more real than anything.
