  • Sgt sir? That's an insult. NCOs work and are never (except in Marine corps boot) referred to as sir. Officers sit around and think of make-work. They are referred to as sir (or ma'am) and are best avoided. NCOs run the day-to-day military. Better than the frat boy officer corps, for the most part.

  • @sgtstardust My most sincere apologies...my knowledge of the military stops with brass buttons & snarling drill sargents in movies. I just went with the most respectful title I could... I'll work on that a bit harder. ;)

  • High Ginger. I still think you should give Larravee another look/play. Nice looking guitar, btw!!

  • @sgtstardust Yes sir! Sgt sir! Maybe....I think I've reached my max with 4 guitars tho'...

    I think my Baby looks beautiful but then I'm very biased. =}

  • I have to buy a Framus 12 string now lol anything I get is going to be a let down after seeing this :-))

  • @Sunambra just keep looking around. I was messaging with a guy a few years ago who found another like mine on ebay. He bought it. So they must be out there...they're just rarer.

  • That sure is pretty. Do we get to hear it soon?? Lots of similar features to mine but much prettier. It seems like the pairs of strings on Framus 12 strings are a little closer together than on others. They sure make awesome guitars.

  • @SW94929 I'm working on it! ;) It occurred to me after I'd done the video that I could have polished it a bit too...it cleans up so nicely. The finish is beautiful. I'm going to get someone to hold it & turn it for me for a second video to show the bowl back better too.

Re: strings seeming to be closer. I checked the nut spacing on it & then on my Martin D12X1 & the Framus spacing is tighter than the Martin but almost too hard to measure with an ordinary gauge.

  • If you ever get a really good in size and quality pic of it taken get one for me I would pay you for it and frame it for my wall.

  • @Sunambra Sure...if you're serious, I can try & take some pix & send them to you...you certainly don't have to pay for them tho'!!!

  • @Gingerjake2 I'm serious that guitar cheers me up just looking at it. I've been staring at Framus guitars for years 1000's of them I'm fascinated with them no idea why it should be Martins or something lol. I love the moustache bridge and the Curved violin style back. Pity my son can't take pics of it he takes amazing ones he has a degree in photography from Glasgow school of Art . He took that pic of my grandson on my channel background.

  • @Sunambra I think Martin (the guitar) is all about sound. Even I admit to being a Martin loyalist & own two...if they've ever made a bad guitar I don't know about it. But the Framus was the #1 guitar in Europe for so many years & you can't ignore that fact. I've had mine pretty much my whole life so it means something else to me as well. I will try to get a good picture or two to send along to you. I do have a good camera - a Nikon D80, which should do it for me. =) Your son is incredible tho'!

  • @Gingerjake2 Great I'd like pic of the front of your guitar maybe you could send me the digital file it would have to be a big file right enough mmm can't email big files can we. I just looked at the pic on my channel he did and I can see every eyelash individually practically.

  • @Sunambra I could send it to you thru' Sendspace which is a large file sender I use. I have pictures now but I'll try & get you one without clutter in the background. Then it would just be up to you to get a good printout at your end.

  • @Gingerjake2 Great looking forward to it.

  • Interestin stuff about Martin and Wilfer learning from the same source. also fascinating to see the neck is made the same as mine and Wgs with dozens of laminated pieces for super strength.

  • @Sunambra I doubt you could ever break these necks! They are amazingly strong & not prone to going out. A lot of guitar purists don't like the neck being bolted on instead of dovetailed, but except for appearances, it makes it a lot easier to replace a neck if you had to.

  • @Gingerjake2 I never receive half your replys I only see them on here when I look at this video.

  • @Sunambra According to my friend, they both apprenticed with members of the Stauffer family who were accomplished violin & cello maker from Schoenbach in Austria.

He said the Stauffers had been furniture & casket makers but two of the brothers became quite renowned musical instrument makers in Vienna.

  • Ooooh and Wow i love it the nicest Framus I have ever seen and I've seen 1000's lol I could look at that guitar for ages would love to try it I think you would have to call the police to handcuff me to get it back off me lol.
