I must be living in a different planet cuz public education has been hurting for years. Pushing social issues and beliefs doesn't help a child learn about math and english. All you need is a book, paper, pencil and a teacher who is dedicated in teaching our children to learn. Please no calculators or internet needed to solve problems! Please!! What this does is leave dedicated teachers mixed in with people who can't find work elsewhere. Yes, I want it to be better but after 24 year, I decided to take my MS and go to the tech field to teach. It is this stinging kind of ignorance that makes me realize I gave more than enough and I will now work on an ED or PhD. All my friends who have advanced degrees gone!

The basic premise of this video is that people will not choose diversity themselves, it requires the government to mandate it. With the Koch plan, every kid can choose their school, it's free choice.
Also, the idea that the schools will diminish in quality seems false. There is a famous school in Harlem, where the first two floors are public schools, and the third floor is a voucher school. The voucher school is producing significantly better results.

There isn't a need for compulsory schooling anymore. It is an outdated institution. There are plenty of educational resource(i.e. khanacademy, PatrickMJT, etc) that offer a high quality education to students and anyone for free. I really hope public education is abolished because it destroys natural curiosity , promotes conformity, and diminishes creativity.

Actually he's been lobbying and electioneering for decades; that makes him far more dirty than any rightwing billionaire. Somalia is anarchistic, I'm libertarian like the Koch brothers; learn the difference "liberal" (which is a contemporary oxymoron). I don't believe others should be helped via the state, but through private charities and organisations; they do a better job and I don't have to have your stupid big government.

Also show me any proof at all that private charities do a better job that the government. I don't see any private food stamps, unemployment, etc etc. Talking points are cheap when you can't back them up. Also your tone is typical insulting. I'm sorry, forced busing is wrong and counter-productive. Why should a child be forced to endure vastly longer travel times to a school far from their home, when another public school is closer, to ensure some arbitrary notion of racial balance?
Desegregation was about removing Jim Crow laws that actively discriminated against African americans. Now that those laws have been removed, the battle against the disparity between caucasians and african americans should be an economic and social one.

Why do you think there are more women in the US, but with fewer numbers in official capacity? 51% of the US are female. And the US ranks 90th in the advancement of women. That's 89 countries where women have more rights then the women in the US. That's 89 countries where there are more women in elected and other official capacity. Americans need to discuss and ask yourselves, why did you give rights to corporations before you gave them to women? What kind of people want women as property?

Slavery is the legal fiction that people are property, corporate person hood is the legal fiction that property are people.
