The only shame for the Robot mode that I see on Fortress Maximus in this review seems to be that I would have liked to have seen another set of guns on the other leg, but that is a minor complaint at best. Great vid for a great toy.

As for Universe 1. If you have the Ratchet for it I would love to see that, or the Inferno, just for Inferno's bizarre backstory and the way he fits in between Beast Wars and Universe 1. I really wanted Fortress Maximus when I was a kid, but never got him. I'm not sorry. When I saw Brave Maximus online, I was in awe. I'm glad they stripped him of accessories. Though I missed the extra robots and the sword that would've been carried over from Grand Maximus, it didn't matter. Brave was awesome, from being a re-release of the largest transformer ever made to the skyscraper look of the towers and overall cool recolor.

Thanks for reviewing this toy! It was well worth the time.

I think I'm the only person that loved the Universe 1.0 line. And you know who goes great with Brave Maximus? The Micromaster combiners that were released in the Universe line. If you don't think of them as Micromasters, but the G1 gestalts they're supposed to homage, they are perfectly to scale with him in both their individual modes and combined mode.

But I guess that violates the 1 figure only rules, so...King Atlas. Or Nemesis Prime. Or Frostbite. Or...

Actually they dont combine all that well, you have to yank the legs off of Megabolt and he just kinda sets up there, they don't physically lock together. Besides, if Megabolt's ever picked I gotta save it for then, after all it's his feature, not Brave's.

Um... there is no repaint of the Vehicle Thrust which is actully a shame because I really like that mold. Skywarp was repainted from Jetstorm. Beast Machines Thrust was a Motorcycle not a Jet like all the other Thrust toys. He's kind of an oddity that way.
