  • @tomltfc Glad to hear that what we are told about not rescuing men is rubbish.

However... your charge of the landlord (i.e. Southwark Council) gets passed directly onto us residents (that's what we've been told by Martin Green)... which sadly doesn't incentivise them to sort out the lifts and replace them and costs us for the inconvenience! We would gladly pay for their replacement but the council have postponed this job twice in the last 6 months. They are antiques.

  • ... Thank the lord it wasn't Joan from the 8th floor stuck in there! She'd have been hopping mad!

  • I think they need a refurbishment anyway as they don't look DDA Act spec as they should be.

  • From 1 November the fire brigade now charge £260 +VAT to remove people, and they will not come to rescue men!

  • @goodatmagic

We will charge the company / landlord etc, not the person shut in the lift. And I have no idea where you got the thing about not coming to rescue men???????!!!

  • That's what residents of Perronet House were told last autumn, and the charge goes to Southwark Council before being passed onto residents collectively through our £2.5k service charge.

  • @TheGuerrillaGardener It's rubbish about us not coming to rescue men... anyone who is need gets our service regardless of their gender!

  • That was so dramatic. The guy looked totally okay, but I bet he was traumatised.

  • Someone got trapped in there again today.

  • Burke would be proud
