Lets be honest here an f1 car would destroy a pro stock motorcyle and yes it would beat a gp bike aswell although not by such a high margin. f1 has to much grip/traction and corning speed for the bike to be a threat and straight line speed is similar.

That was also 1 of the slowest accelerating f1 car from 2003, try using the renault or the ferrari from 2004 and 2005 then you'll see, also that seems like a slow runway because both the bike and the car's best times were a bit slower than it should be, the BAR = 8.8 and Honda = 9.3 I think theres another half a second in it for both if they were at a proper drag strip.

moto gp may or may not have a straight line speed advantage over F1 but then again a purpose built drag car will beat both so who cares. But when it comes to which is fastest on a race track which is what both are designed for then there is no comparison. F1 is much faster than moto gp. Compare data from any year from circuit de catalunya where both have raced on the same track. Eg. in 2005 moto gp fastest lap 1 min 43 sec, F1 fastest lap 1 min 15 sec.
The F1 has a power to weight ratio of over 1400BHP per ton and tons of grip to start with, once u pto speed, up to 2 tons of downforce aid it put the power down, thats why the bike gets away better.

NO street Motorcycle (recumbents I'm not sure about), could ever beat an F1 car in ANY drag race no matter how high the power to weight ratio is. Motorcycles are limited by a high center of gravity. If you accelerate too quickly the bike will fall backwards. Bikes also don't have aerodynamic aids for genrating downpressure and limitations in aerodynamics limit top speed.
@Black Well first of all, this is not true because a wheelie bar takes care of that. The short body and light weight ratio lets the bike have tremendous power to the wheel. Bikes DO have aerodynamics on there side. 250mph is fast enough for a drag race and a bike can do it. It's all rider dependent, I agree without these small things you can't win on a bike, but from a roll that's a different story. Cheap 200 mods can fix the problems on the bikes suspension and length. Roll start bike will win.

Well, i too remembered Kimi Raikkonen doing 347 KPH in Monza, Italy 2005. But those were the good ol' V10 engine days.
This year has yet to see any F1 car go beyond 330 KPH during the race. It's starting to lose it's speciality, especially since there's gonna be GP2 teams on the grid next year.
Somebody seriously needs to force Max Mosley to retire. He's downgrading F1 quality. "More competitive" my ass.....

I think this year's MotoGP bikes have higher top-speeds than F1 cars. I watched the Barcelona race today and i see Lorenzo doing 326 KPH....i've yet to see any F1 car do that this year.
I hate the FiA, what new "safety" measures are they gonna put next for the F1? V6 engines? 30 million budget cap? No refueling for the entire race? No more winter testing too?
No wonder F1 is soooo boring this season....

No you can see why an F1 car is 30 seconds a lap quicker than a GP/superbike. The Barcelona absolute lap record is 1.13's, the moto gp bikes are nowhere close to that.

So, being a custom race bike, it will have a racing clutch, just like the F1 car. I don't think that anyone can use this bike - in the F1 car, you can rev it up to hell and pop the clutch. You just can't do that with the bike.
And you need someone to start it up! daily? not really.

There is no parity between car and bike. The bike is a production based and Superbike rules stipulate that the engines and transmissions must be derived from the production models with at least 3,000 built and sold to the public. A much closer comparison would be with MotoGP bikes where I would expect the current bikes to beat F1 in acceleration and top speed. F1 one has electronic clutch and gear shift. The bike has manual clutch and gear shift. There is little relationship between the 2.

NO street Motorcycle (recumbents I'm not sure about), could ever beat an F1 car in ANY drag race no matter how high the power to weight ratio is. Motorcycles are limited by a high center of gravity. If you accelerate too quickly the bike will fall backwards. Bikes also don't have aerodynamic aids for genrating downpressure and limitations in aerodynamics limit top speed.

@Black Well first of all, this is not true because a wheelie bar takes care of that. The short body and light weight ratio lets the bike have tremendous power to the wheel. Bikes DO have aerodynamics on there side. 250mph is fast enough for a drag race and a bike can do it. It's all rider dependent, I agree without these small things you can't win on a bike, but from a roll that's a different story. Cheap 200 mods can fix the problems on the bikes suspension and length. Roll start bike will win.

Actually, drag racers could cross 4's (if it weren't for NHRA technology restrictions). Even top fuel dragsters can leave F1 cars as if standing still.

I would like to point out that most car drivers don't own f1 cars, the max they get is a porshe or an aston martin which... well.. a hayabusa or something much more affordable would shit rubber in the face of a supercar.
