Do Much Music still have Spotlight? I haven't watched MM in years. I remember they used to have this great segment where musicians talked about what books they were reading.
I think Maynard has achieved Enlightenment, or some form of it, sometime between Aenima and Lateralus. I'm not sure if he is aware of it himself, but it's there. The way he looks at the world and reacts to things and just how he exists in the moment seem to show that; he's all about the now, about spiritual and emotional balance, and about connecting with everything.

Tool started off mostly as shock rockers, and evolved from there. Songs like hooker with a penis use grotesque metaphors that get under your skin, but actually have a totally different meaning(which is very apparent when you hear the actual song, which mentions nothing about actual penises. Ha Maynard is WAY full of himself, that whole band has to be. I find the more intelligent and gifted someone is, the more likely they know it. That whole band is amazing, if they weren't and if they didn't know it, they would have disapated into shit long ago.
