  • this video can not be viewed in Germany because GEMA has not granted the rights

  • fantastisch !! danke !!! ich liebe diess Song:))

  • Does anybody know where you can buy her song La Mer (Beyond the Sea)?

  • I know that she studied german from her biography. Thumbs up!

  • Don't know why, FH in foreigner langage sounds special and very charming

  • yes , very true , in english also

  • @TheMauvetys As only an English and Spanish speaker, nearly everything she sings is foreign to me, and I agree. It's way charming.

  • i want her.

  • ENGLISH TRANSLATION: Dreams that arise in the night And fade in the day Mostly aren’t true Because like this among millions Our illusions are born Dreams are like far-off clouds Which other follow As long as there is live Tell me, tell, where they drive to Where they will once stay Only the wind knows this Like a wonder is the world Each tree and each field Like a wonder is the world
  • Dreams that don’t mean anything to us

    we should see

    With other eyes in time

‘cause they often lead our thinking

    To those paths

    Which we then follow.

  • French and german, the two best singing-languages of the world! This lady got class!

  • thank you....not heard this before by Francoise...love it!!! :--)

  • superb.......

  • Françoise je t'aime. C'et tout

  • @capassecreme moi aussi !

  • me too me too l just love it iamswimming in all here songs...

  • I just love stuff like this ,gives me wings to fly

  • I love Françoise Hardy, and I must say, here I am really jelouse of her hat!

  • j'adore cette chanson =)

  • Francoise has been the love of my life for 50 years, she is wonderful and is perfect. I would love to meet her. A very special lady.

  • Magnifique !

  • Wow, so beautiful, I like her French German accent, makes it sound softer and makes Chanson possible in German. The lyrics are of course also wonderful

  • Träume = Super Album!

  • lyrics are pure poetry... I guess even Goethe or Rilke would envy them...

  • She looks so stylish - I can imagine her in a smoky room singing this - I don't smoke BTW and don't wish to, but theres just something about her look with her cigarette which is "classier"! She is beautiful.

  • the german language isnt beautiful, she is.

  • Who cares about the language though, I would happily have overlooked that minor barrier for to have met this beautiful girl.

She has such a lovely voice. Not to mention beautiful legs.. Yum!!

But me, I have only ears for the music I say as I lie through my teeth, lol.. she is beautiful..

Hmm I want to go back, anyone got a tardis handy pleease...

  • I wish I knew the lyrics!

  • Quelle classe!

  • doesn't matter what language she sings, its wonderful.

  • For those who unfortunately do not read German it would be great to have a translation of the text of such beautiful song. Great homage to Marlene and Fassbinder, from a great Ozon. Excellent the actors in the movie, too.

  • Charmante Françoise...

  • Totally great ! I love her singing in a little bit of Marlene Dietrich-styled croon... Enormous !

  • Beautiful song, does anyone know what is saying?

  • had to favourite this one, she is lovely :)

  • @Andrewsmate i thought she was french

  • @cbappa1 she is French, but sings here in German, and beautifully so : O

  • @cbappa1

Well...she is french ...but has sung in German, english, italian, spanish...and had hits in all these languages...

  • @Andrewsmate ...well, that's true but the lyrics here are rather silly :) "dreams, which arise in the night and which vanish in the daytime are mostly not true..." and so on and so on :) however, Francoise is charming, as usual - of course ..der Text ist allerdings höchst dämlich, sorry

  • @81506860 Ok : )

  • @JiS01 Complete

  • @JiS01 How can you say any language is shit? All languages are beautiful, they are what people rely on to communicate.

  • @JiS01 How can you say any language is shit? All languages are beautiful, they are what people rely on to communicate.

  • @zoehala I do agree with you and it's a shame that every year in the world so many languages are disappearing.

  • Quelle classe, excellente artiste.

  • This a song from "Water Drops On Burning Rocks" but it is older of course. But it is a very important sound background to the film.

I cannot bear the german language but in this song you can forget that it is sung in german - so wonderful it is.

A big gesture of worship that she made also to Marlene Dietrich - acting like her.

  • anyone know where to find this song? i'de really like a cd with this song on it. cheers

  • wie ein Wunder ist die Welt

    jeder Baum und jedes Feld

wie ein Wunder ist die Welt

    Träume, die uns nichts bedeuten

    sollte man beizeiten

Peut-on encore se les procurer ?

  • very gentle song!

  • One of the best songs

  • This is rare I think. I can't ever find this music video anywhere else. Thank you.

  • they only sample the first 4-5 seconds

  • A correction, please: the lyrics are....

What is done in hurry, sometimes lack in quality.

  • Träume, die bei Nacht entstehen und am Tag vergehen sind meistens garnicht wahr weil sie unter den Millionen unsrer Illusionen geboren sind Dreams that by night come about But which disappear in the break of day These are quite often not true For they do belong to our uncountable illusions And from them they do spring out... I tried... The lyrics of this song is pure poetry!
  • Outro brasileiro.

    Abraços.

  • Love this video. Just found another fun one: Carmen Villani - Uno così (1968)

  • O God, she makes the impossible be "ganz" possible! She transforms a song in raw German into a so sweet and delicate thing that it seems really French! Françoise Hardy is a diamond... which is for ever!

  • Immer Francoise pur! Jeder Vergleich hinkt!!

    Merci mon'amoure!

    Que esta´haciendo ahora?

  • This song was sampled by Gnarls Barkley...

  • really? what the hell?

  • Yeah. The song's called "Open Book", but you can barely hear the sample.

  • Merci! outstanding..what a tremendous artist..

  • entspannend

  • A melodia emociona

  • Finalmente um brasileiro apareceu :D

    Yeah, Françoise ROCKS! ;D

    J'aime cette femme!!!!!

  • Os brasileiros aparecem mas nem sempre escrevem...

  • concordo...

  • wunderschöne frau! so wunderschööön ohh i luv u!

  • She's so beautiful here!

  • It took a little research but learned this video is hommage to Marlene Dietrich. I agree with Becky930's earlier comment that it is simply fabulous. My first two comments below this one contain information found on Marlene Dietrich wikipedia page....

  • M. Dietrich [wikipedia]: Like many Weimar-era German entertainers, she was a staunch anti-Nazi who despised antisemitism.

Dietrich recorded a number of anti-Nazi records...She sang for the Allied troops on the front lines in Algeria and France, and went into Germany with Generals James M. Gavin and George S. Patton. When asked why she had done this, in spite of the obvious danger of being within a few kilometers of German lines, she replied, "aus Anstand" — "it was the decent thing to do."

  • The U.S. Government awarded Marlene Dietrich the Medal of Freedom her war work. Dietrich has been quoted as saying this was the honor of which she was most proud in her life. She was also made a chevalier (later commandeur) of the Légion d'Honneur by the French government.

  • Maybe it wasn't meant to be funny? But it makes me laugh. Love this video. Just found this on a search: "In an outstanding movie clip for the cover song Françoise plays at being MARLENE DIETRICH as as vamp in a glittering black costume, with fish-net stockings and a long cigarette holder. An hommage for the great diva, combined with the expression of her affection for the German language, as Françoise confessed at an interview."

  • It makes me laugh as did the person who compared France Gall with softball player Caitlin Lowe. Apparently they had a thing for Caitlin Lowe in a batting helmet.

  • This is hilarious. Kind of like with 'La maison ou j'ai grandi', it's hard not to laugh when viewing. Francoise Hardy must have a good sense of humor. These are great videos. Thanks much...

  • zu träumen schön....

  • Sehr Gut!!

Danke.

  • Your German is prety amazing Becky930, seeing as you already seem so fluent in English and French.

  • Thank you ohwhateverdammit. I'm a translator. So it helps !

  • wunderschönes lied

  • sie kann wirklich gut deutsch

  • This video was deleted so I looked for it to put it back and copied the info without doing my research, thanks to hoffmann9471 for getting the facts straight.
