i think they also gave away i believe the idea of him being in an alternate reality or world and that he maybe did die like river n goes there possibly from forest of the dead, these realities are very similar hence that lovely duck pond that is brought up in both that has no ducks in it and they say that in both too, just a little too similar, anyway, hope i didn't spoil if this is actully right, everyone has their own ideas which is why this show is great!
