you're telling me it's real time and you control the ship the way you did in Freelancer? and the hud when you land looks like hud from Freelancer too? and i expect there will be clans, ship customization and 10 to 20 systems which you can explore? i don't want to try and get into beta, I WANT THIS GAME NOW! The lag is from the servers being stationed in Portugal, there's a server being setup in the US from the same site that has War Rock.  Through Right now it's in Beta Sign ups.

As for the lag I just deal with it.

For me, the problem with this game is actually what sets it apart from eve. In eve, you target and choose what weapons to fire when, and where to move. This game has more of a manual targeting system, and it suffers greatly from server latency.

If they where to switch the flight / targeting mechanics to be more like eve and less demanding on their servers, this one would be a winner.
