I heard beeping simular to that when I took my video of my neighborhood 2001 but is sound like this: boooo-u-beeeeeep then a click the rotator and so on
why do you report it to the fire department? Ours are controlled by our sherrif department which my moms boyfriend works at (He's a sergant). I want to go and see how the thing is for them
These sound more like scanner tones then error tones. Just because a siren doesnt test doesnt mean it isnt working. Most sirens are usually connected to a city/county system.
The noise you hear at 1:56 is the Federal Signal SCADA audio coming from the M1225 radio in the control cabinet. There are 2 reasons for the siren not to activate here. Either they are just polling the system at which the siren responds back saying " I am ok and online " or the siren failed. Then it would report back to the base telling them that it had a problem. The siren reports , correct activation, main motor current fail, rotator current fail, local activation, power fail and intrusion.
well, i didn't hear any other sirens. my city sirens actually failed. 3 times in a row. finally i yelled at them. went to the ema office 1 hour before the monthly test and to them to use all of the activation tones. not just the new ones for the 2001's. what do you know. they sounded.
It could be recieveing tones from its wireless reciver and i dont think they are Electronic siren DTMF tones. This just must be:
UPDATE------ ERROR
F.D sends Siren says
Maybe?? I dont know. I just know that electornic sirens get DTMF tones from EMA or FD or Police office. They send Alert, the siren does alert. But,how about this, everytime when the sirens test, a EMA worker should drive around the sirens, if it doesnt go, they should test manually.
i think there was a humming noise a click and it stopped it might be a motor on the siren was jammed and the tones wher the DTMF tones used to communicate w/ the siren and since it failed the siren was telling the main controller that something is wrong im pretty sure thats what happened
I see what you mean. A good share of the sirens in my co. are 2001s and they fail often. Actually, the system failed yesterday during the test. NONE of the 119 county sirens worked
That's happend here in Lucas County a good few times. I only got 2 chances this summer to record the sirens, the first time, the system failed. the next chance is comming up.
That sucks. Today was my countys siren test, the siren I chose was the only one in the county that failed to sound.. it really sucks. Well, try again in June!
Is that siren mounted on a concrete pole?

When they do silent tests they still send out tones so this was probably a silent test

It's reported to the fire department or EMA because they have certain tones to set it off

I saw a little bit of smoke coming from the siren head after the contactor activated. Then those failure tones.
Think it's a chopper motor down.
Antipwnsurmum 2 years ago
I seen what you are talking about, but that smoke looking stuff was actually a spider's web. Haha
soccerdude7330 2 years ago
I blame your camera! :P It honestly looks like smoke, what with it being perfectly timed and all

Yeah, in Brookpark, the monthly test in January failed, all of them in Cuyahoga County failed. Freaky! It wasnt even cold.

when are the tones supposed to be heard? I heard some bird making noise and shaking the power cable towards the end of the vid.

In the 2nd part of the video. Listen carefully, turn your volume all the way up
