Its just common sense...You would not give your dog chocolate because you know that this type of food item would kill your pet. So why would you give it to an opossum other than the fact that this person is lazy and uneducated. I own two 6 year old virgina opossums so when I see stupid people like this excuse me for caring.
I really do not think this animal in any means was happy. captive bred opossums live up to 10 years. wild possums only live up to 4 years if their lucky. developing seriouse conditions like metabolic bone disease causes alot of pain and eventually death. seeing this makes me very angry people do not do their research
National Opossum Society....Please go there AND read the proper diet. (If shes still alive and well as I see this video is 2 years old) Sad...Really Sad people get these animals and do not do their research. No excuse for her to look the way she does we have 2, 6month old females who are extremely healthy and they do not look like this. I doubt you even have a reputable vet for her either because she needs it....
I dont think the girl speaking or you really know the proper diet for an opossum...Your animal is not funny looking, she has bulging eye syndrome due to a improper diet, Pancakes, hamburger, and chocolate are DANGEROUS for these animals and your leading her into a slow death. Opossums need a STRICT proper diet or will develop metabolic bone disease, bulging eye syndrome and severe obesity, feeding her this crap is very cruel in my eyes. I highly suggest you do your research!
@venomissvixen yes the oppossum is fat and unhealthy but it does seem happy. While not ideal, do bear in mind that oppossums only live 2 to 4 years anyway, i think this one has at least had a form of happiness in it's life.
