GB did not drag the US into WWII. Some (eg General Marshall) knew the US would be there. US in '39 was not ready for war - half of the standing army was still on horseback. Worse, by '40 FDR believed Churchill would be begging for terms with 10'000 Germans ready to cross by barge after an all-out air campaign. So '39-'41 they were not just supplying GB. They were preparing to fight the war, alone if it came to that. But in the end, US and GB/Commonwealth will be Allies to the end.

As a trauma surgeon a bit too forward, I treated both UK and US troops. I saw nothing but pure dedication and caring from the Brits. Most stories are too personal to tell. One thing I'll never forget - a young (hell, they're all too young) British soldier injured more then he knew, insisted that we treat his more lightly wounded civilian interpreter first. He lived, but only just. That will forever be my memory of British Forces. HEART(s) OF OAK, indeed !!

@specialfx34 Our foriegn policy was to remain neutral. We were not allied with any nation at the time. We were isolationists. Our foriegn policy didn't change until after WWII. In WWI, we were allied because we had a common enemy. Same with WWII. However, after WWII, we realised that britain was much more than a trading partner. And besides, it wasn't like we didn't help britain until we entered the war. We still gave them supplies. We were still friendly. We just didn't enter the war.

My Father and brother both died serving in the British army in Afghanistan in 2009, not a day goes by were I don't think about them :( I am failing everything at school. Its been really tough for me and my mother, I have explained to her that my dream is to fight for my country and family! As a trauma surgeon a bit too forward, I treated both UK and US troops. I saw nothing but pure dedication and caring from the Brits. Most stories are too personal to tell. One thing I'll never forget - a young (hell, they're all too young) British soldier injured more then he knew, insisted that we treat his more lightly wounded civilian interpreter first. He lived, but only just. That will forever be my memory of British Forces. HEART(s) OF OAK, indeed !!

@specialfx34 Our foriegn policy was to remain neutral. We were not allied with any nation at the time. We were isolationists. Our foriegn policy didn't change until after WWII. In WWI, we were allied because we had a common enemy. Same with WWII. However, after WWII, we realised that britain was much more than a trading partner. And besides, it wasn't like we didn't help britain until we entered the war. We still gave them supplies. We were still friendly. We just didn't enter the war.

irrelevancy of a video game aside, they really didn't. they suprised us and so bloodied our nose a bit, and then they were repelled. The next game will likely show the counter attack in which russia is near wiped off the map.

My Father and brother both died serving in the British army in Afghanistan in 2009, not a day goes by were I don't think about them :( I am failing everything at school. Its been really tough for me and my mother, I have explained to her that my dream is to fight for my country and family! And it is good we did not enter until we did to get our economy and plants booming and producing all our tanks and supplies.. Which started with the lend lease thing with the soviets and UK..
