@gordthelord12 If you hit the level it will not remain accurate for very long. this is not good practice and trades people, i hope, tend not to do it.
i bin bricky for 8 years now. 1st 3 did not hit my level, was only normal £30 level. then i met some1 who was laying over 1000 bricks a day who had a good level around £120... he could knock the shit out of. makes setting up corners and lines alot fasted. but i do agree its a bad habit, but one i wont be breaking soon. PS had my good level 5 years now still as accurate as 1st got (u get what u pay for) good vid
steves level is a slender lightweight stabilla heavier stabillas are able to take a bit of a bashing but it all depends on how accurate you lay them knoking the level to get a couple of mill is alright but more ??
Steve, let me ask you something...I've used a Crick level for the last two years....it's a good 5-piece wood level. I've hit it for two years and it's still very accurate. They are expensive tho, $130 USD...but a cheaper level that looks similar to yours is like $35 USD....so I'm thinking of going with it next time....I just can't get out of that habit!! lol
m8 im at college jst finishin my year of construction foundation i don't no weather to go for i.c.a course or go and get an apprentiship but im not the best bricklayer if im honest but its all practice w/b please fnx for the video's

Also noting, as you have used the teachers method of hitting the brick, your third course down the header is off a mile.

*How to really use a spirit level*
Lay beds evenly, lay bricks close enough (within 5 mil) put level on wall, hit level (decent make!!!) with trowel.
Foolproof.

decent video. I passed my City and Guilds other week and the 'detached hollow pier' or chimney as we all know it still gives me nightmares.

Well presented, good to see someone encourage people to hit bricks and not belt the daylights out of the level as a lot of bricklayers tend to do.
