@Tudsbury You can get ally bodied cars, Kirkham are the main source. Very expensive tho. Add at least another 20-30k for a Kirkham over a decent fibreglass. If you want to build one. and are in the UK, go to Uk Cobra Club website. Tonnes of advice and details of places you can see cars/talk to owners etc..
Wow, what does that involve? A lot of elbow grease? Did you turn that corroded lump into that gleaming V8 all yourself?? How much would a brand new Chevvy V8 be off the shelf?
@psychoangus The only thing left with a performance rebuild is the block so its not quite the elbow grease it perhaps looks! Block gets rebored and decks machined down, then all new parts inside, & new heads, manifold, carb etc. It cost about £6,500 and in the end made 450hp/450ft/lbts torque. Small block chevys are not that hard to rebuild. Very basic technology. A motor with generic parts from a UK rebuilder to that HP would be about £6k so no saving but better parts.
@psychoangus Hi, I rebuilt the engine myself as I like to know and specify what parts are going inside rather than buying a generic motor off one of the UK suppliers.
@garbage106 Thanks, cost with these things is what you want to spend in some respects. Building from scratch will cost you between £20-35k for a fibreglass bodied car. This one was around £35k to build but I spent a lot on the engine as it saw some use on the drag strip. Resale values in the mid to high 20's so you get a fair amount of the cash back.
@LB427SC gees alot of money then hehe, think i'l stick to smaller projects for a while until iv enough cash to secretly buy a kit without the girlfriend finding out, migt even find an unfinished one that i could strip and rebuild properly if im lucky, mad how many unfinished project kits are on ebay for naff all, rebuilding an ex military 90 defender at mo converting it to 300tdi locost kit next me thinks, good to chat to you, jim
Hello, could you please give me a copy of the bare chassis? I would apreciate it if you send them to my direct email: agus523@hotmail.com. Thank you very much.

Hello, could you please give me a copy of the bare chassis? The reason is because im starting with a prject like this. I would apreciate it if you send them to my direct email: agus523@hotmail.com. Thank you very much. This is a great car.
@yael4393 Sorry but the car is supplied by a kit company so wouldn't be right to provide a copy of their design. The cost of the chassis are such that there is little or no saving making one yourself and no guarantees as to how it would perform unless you are a chassis designer? Save yourself a lot of hassle and buy one from a kit company!
