size really does not matter, i am an amature muay thai fighter, and im telling you its all about self control, and the heart of the fighter. you got it or you dont thats just the way it is.
@ringmaster627 Not true. It's always a mixture of things that makes the better fighters. Size, skill, athleticism, and fight intelligence all matter. It's how you put your attributes together that make it matter. Size definitely does matter. If it didn't, there wouldn't be weight classes.
@flipmasta14 Brock was over 50 pounds heavier than Velasquez, but Cain still dominated completely. Weight is really not important. UFC's heavyweight division is like 210 - 265 pounds, that's like 5 weight classes, lol.
@TheLukieBoi1 Extra weight helps if it's muscle and doesn't slow you down. If 265 but mostly fat then a guy who has higher muscle content and speed will likely whip him. Generally extra size and weight is an advantage that is why they divide into weight classes.
Obviously Carano was the better fighter here but if I were her I would have at least made the fight interesting by backing off Pestova for a couple of rounds. After all, these fans paid hard-earned money to see a fight that lasts over thirty-eight seconds.
@xyPERSON She's not worried about the people who paid to see the fight. She's worried about winning. The longer the fight goes, the more unpredictable it becomes. Get it done and get it done quick is their goal.
@xyPERSON The job is to beat the opponent not back off and give the opponent an oppurtunity to beat you if you make a mistake, you watch to much fake wrestling I guess.
@hydrolito I am quite aware of what the job of an MMA fighter is.In my honest opinion, being an athlete in any sport and not caring about or for the fans makes you vain.Furthermore, whether wrestling is completely fake or not makes no difference to the millions of people who watch it. Oh, and the correct spelling is "too" not "to".
@xyPERSON Her fans want to see a real fight not fake crap if she can win in a hurry then do it. In a different fight she got took out in the first round, make a mistake with a real opponent that happens to you. You don't like it go watch a bunch of fake crap that I hate hope this doesn't become like that.
Pestova can't be a full time fighter with that performance. Gina is obviously talented, but I think a large part of her hype is due to the fact there aren't a lot of women in MMA that are committed to the sport. As this changes, I think Gina will be seen in a very different light than she is right now.
From my count the fight lasted exactly 35 seconds from the time they first made contact and I counted 27 unanswered punches once Gina got in a control position on top of Pestova. No contest....
It's good that referee stopped the fight.

Not sure why that much size difference Laila Ali (boxing) also sometimes fought smaller opponents such as Christy Martin and Erin Toughill.

@flipmasta14 Gina and Leiticia are the exact same weight. GSP and Lesnar are not in the same weight category. So, your statement is false.

@flipmasta14 size doesnt matter if your as skillful as GSP
brock goes for the take down and gsp puts in a flying knee to the face, brock would retire....again
