It would be extremely frustrating to get killed in only one shot which is exactly what used to happen all the time in gow1. I can't tell you how many times i got bodied from 5 feet away in 1 shot by the shotty. A less powerfull shotgun encourages players to use other weapons more specifically the lancer (which was rarly used in gow 1)

The confetti-firing pussy ass shotgun is one of the millions of reasons why I hate the shit out of Gears of War 2. The only game in this series to get it right was the first one, because Gears of War 3's (beta) shotgun is about as shitty as the one in Gears of War 2. Gears of War 2 is hands down one of the worst games ever made.

lol This kind of shit happens on Gears 1 and 2 all the time. I have been playing Gears 1 this week and I shotty someone at point blank range 2 times and they just roll away unscathed and they shotty me once or twice from a distance and I get downed. Epic seriously needs to work on some of the issues. But also, Gears 2 had a great campaign, Gears 1 did not, Gears 2 had terrible multiplayer, Gears 1 didn't.

yeah this was the reason why i didnt play gears 2 for nearly a year. that shotgun sucked big time. now its back to its original power but is still lacking in the fire rate. atleasts they are puting a higher firerate in gears 3. but even with a beter shotgun the game has some major flaws. hope they are all fixed for gears 3. guess we will find out when the beta comes out early next year.

@AsianAbuser It's called ragdoll, and ragdoll is better than Tu6. There is no such thing as "pushing" with the new shotguns...you'll just die everytime. Ragdoll prevented camping and allowed pushing. It was easier to avoid a smoke than these Tu6 shotties.

@Kanter117 i beleive it is down to lag, his character stutters at the beginning, and a shot hits the floor, due to that i can only come to a weird assumption that his shots were hitting on his screen but in reality probably completely missed because the enemy was already ahead of it seems to be here, if by a small margin could cause this to happen, hence shooting slightly ahead of the opponent would be a little more effective

THis game sucks and always will. It only plays like it should when you are host. Otherwise, forget it. The host is usually in mexico using a hamster running on a wheel being constantly fed corn tortillas and refried beans to power his modem in his adobe hut. The LAG is RIDICULOUS in this game and matchmaking is a complete failure.
All I hope is EPIC learns from their mistakes for the third installment of the series. GOW2 has flashes of brilliance but remains a failure overall.

i remember seeing a video that someone made testing out the shotgun, he just had a buddy stand still and aimed and shot at him from at least 5 ft. it nearly killed the target, then he blind fired it, nearly killed it again, but when he did a popshot, it reduced the damage drastically. not even half damage. this is nothing compared to lagtrocity when Gears2 first came out. You couldn't even hip shot. When you did, the shot would shoot directly to the floor. FAIL
when u pop shot in gears2, it feels like it doesnt register.... this is because if u do quick pop shot it shoots way to the left for no reason and only half or less of the bullets go into your target
in gears there is a problem with grenades. sometimes you willl throw a grenade, but on someone elses screen, it lands in a comopletely differant spot than where you saw it land. this brings complete bs moments and a very agrivating expirience

This is exactly what happened to me when I used to play this garbage. Then on top of it some noob would talk shit like he was some gamergod. I hate this game. davidsteele26 has it right,"this game sucks and always will". What a great concept but it's an utter failure. Shut this game down and start over you Epic pukes and put our some quality over quantity and aesthetics. Matchmaking sucks, lag is soooooo bad. What a giant load of crap or a gloc. Fail.

it happens to everybody, when you get a really bloody screen but lost little to no damage then u kno that u got shottied at point blank and didnt die, thats what happened to the second guy cause he reved up his chainsaw with no hesitation, the first guy i think was host because after you shot him he got downed very quick which means he took a lot of damage but he should of died from your shot if he wasn't host, makes know sense but thats how gears 2 is

After Epic did the last update gears 2 has been going downhill, i tested the shotgun in a match when i was host and my connection is damn near perfect and i took 2 shots at point blank to kill someone

People are so damn stupid it obviously wasnt lagg OR that he was missing because he was drawing blood from his target. And in MY oppinion (correct me if im wrong) the reason you didnt kill the guy that chainsawed you was because he was host. (Which sucks ass on its own) I have no clue how you didnt kill the other guy. It happens to me ALL the time but I still love the damn game.

@Kanter117 i beleive it is down to lag, his character stutters at the beginning, and a shot hits the floor, due to that i can only come to a weird assumption that his shots were hitting on his screen but in reality probably completely missed because the enemy was already ahead of it seems to be here, if by a small margin could cause this to happen, hence shooting slightly ahead of the opponent would be a little more effective

Yeah that sucks. But it's probably from the lag. While you seen yourself shooting him he might have been in a different area.
Gears of war needs their servers or something, what they have going on now just doesn't work very well... It sucks.

what they should do if they want to get rid of the two piecing crap they should make it to where it takes about 5-8 seconds to be able to aim or shoot. Those are some pretty heavy items they have and after meleeing you really don't have alot of energy left

wow awesome vacum on the chainsaw and auto lock with melee really top notch.. The fact that theres no melee stun in gears 2 is awesome we can all swing our bats(guns) without any fear of being flintch by a point blank shotgun.

THis game sucks and always will. It only plays like it should when you are host. Otherwise, forget it. The host is usually in mexico using a hamster running on a wheel being constantly fed corn tortillas and refried beans to power his modem in his adobe hut. The LAG is RIDICULOUS in this game and matchmaking is a complete failure.
All I hope is EPIC learns from their mistakes for the third installment of the series. GOW2 has flashes of brilliance but remains a failure overall.
So sad.

that's why it lags. Because it runs directly of the hosts connection. Sure in modern warfare 2 it lags when the host sucks, but that's only because the host has a shitty connection to connect you to the server.
Gears of war one for the world. Gears 3? Maybe. No serverS? Bye Epic.

i remember seeing a video that someone made testing out the shotgun, he just had a buddy stand still and aimed and shot at him from at least 5 ft. it nearly killed the target, then he blind fired it, nearly killed it again, but when he did a popshot, it reduced the damage drastically. not even half damage. WTF!?!?

when u pop shot in gears2, it feels like it doesnt register.... this is because if u do quick pop shot it shoots way to the left for no reason and only half or less of the bullets go into your target

in gears there is a problem with grenades. sometimes you willl throw a grenade, but on someone elses screen, it lands in a comopletely differant spot than where you saw it land. this brings complete bs moments and a very agrivating expirience

Yah u dont ever pop shot in gears of war 2it like never really registers and half of the time when u do pop shot there close enought the chainsaw u as seen in this Vid. But i do agree the shotgun really needs to be fixed. they did fix it a little but i like never use the shotgun unless i'm host then the shotgun is godly

this game makes me wanna stab myself in the balls with molten daggers then pour acid into my gaping wounds, thus redering me unconsious due to the immense pain. when the EMTs cart away my lifeless corpse they will know that gears of war 2 had caused this brutal death, and hopefully will spread the word of how abysmal this game is. GoW2 awareness walks will take place in my honor, and cliffy b will recieve his righteous punishment of being 2 pieced and chainsawed for all of eternity
