Would i be right in saying that the extra boards on each side that can be extended is for pople sitting beside it and have there drinks on it? I was looking all last night on the net for a magicians tables and theres nothing on there and what ever you do fine is rubbish. This is def one of a kind, i know you made it and all your ideas, but still, its def one of a kind, cause they are nothing nice out there. You did SUCH an amazing job building this. Well done.
what is the best kind of restaurant to work at, because i need to find the balance of fancy, busy, and loud. plus i'm only 15. do you think that i should just wait until i'm old enough to work at bars, or what?
@Th3cardman Do a show. Put out a tip jar. You should have many shows under your belt before trying to do a restaurant. Restaurants are the front lines, its hard work. Make sure you have experience performing. Even if its for free. When you work people see you perform and will want to hire you for private events. This is how you make money.
@LittleLead Thats up to the restaurant. I have found just being dependable and doing a good job is all you need. Your fee and time you will be there is all that is needed to be decided. Sometimes your days and hours will change until they find a good place for you. So a contract would have to be rewritten all the time. A contract to rigid. They will like it if you are more flexible.
@TheGonzaloMagic Thats up to you. How hard do you want to work? How often do you want to work? I love what I do. So as long as my bills are paid I am happy. Its not easy making a living at it. There is a lot of luck involved. But chance favors the person who is prepared. So know your work and know it well.
Fantastic! Any chance of you someday adding the dimensions to the info box such as the top, bottom, sides, side door width + extended side shelves?
Though tables should be designed for a persons hieght & needs, your info could help someone wrap thier head around when starting a design on paper. Minus the felt, I'm guessing wood, hardware, & paint cost between $125 - $175? Is that about right?
@DesignsThatMatter I don't have measurements written down but I'll try to get some. I originally just designed the shelves. The drawers, doors, extended side tables and sliding middle shelf and front drink shelf were all ideas that came about while I was making it.
Amazing stuff Jon. I really like your choice of material design and colors... I don't if you would like to share this with me, but curious. What is the material you used to cover the top of the table? That business area where you spread your cards..
@dhimantchovatia The top is casino grade gaming suede with 1/4" foam padding underneath. It is available at poker table supply websites. Great surface!
This is really cool. Im going to try to do somthing like this. Instead of buying one of those expensive performing tables Im just going to build one for my needs. Cheaper and its fun building somthing.
O.m.g magic bar thing you put together is amazing, ur a so good to put that all together, wow i cant get over how weel it looks, how long is is made and you have it in use now? and just woundering how much would everything cost me if i want to try make something like that? thanks for sharing the video too
KUDOS Jon thats looks like a very nice working surface area you have to work on. A good width and more importantly a perfect working height, no more back breaking learning over tables. I bet working at that is like a home from home ? all you'll ever need right underneath.
