Great video! I didn't even know that any Multilevels went to Bay Head! BTW, I have to say that I really like the horns on the newst Multilevel cab cars.:)
what a thin, smooth train a-comin'! the second part is especially sweet because you have captured it slowing down slightly. Your videos are very skillfully handled.
I know that LB is a transfer point for trains to NY/Bay Head. But the description made it seem like you were saying that that consist was heading DIRECTLY to New York.
The PL42AC is NOT the primary locomotive from Long Branch to Bay Head. Rather, this engine travels from Newark Penn Station to Bay Head thus eliminating the need for transfer service in Long Branch.
What are you talking about? The PL42AC is a diesel and it does regulary serve the NJCL whether it be the Hoboken-Bay Head express or the Long Branch-Bay Head shuttle.
The point of the *Transfer* at Long Branch is for people who want to go to *NEW YORK* on *ELECTRIC TRAINS*. Because *DIESEL TRAINS* aren't allowed in New York City. Besides the PL42AC can't even fit in the North River Tunnels.
NJT has a few trains that run express from Bayhead to Hoboken, w/ a stop at Newark Penn for a change to NYC trains. So I guess everyone is correct. It was cool to see a PL42AC , as most of the runs use GP40PH-2Bs
that was most def me in 4150

Yeah, I've seen them a few times, but def. not the norm as of yet. The horns on the MLs sound nice, but the seats are so bad!

I suppose. I mean, they are pretty comfortable, but it really sucks that they are stuck in a fixed position.

Hmmm...that's a brand new ML cab car but it has a really good horn. As of now most Bay Head trains really don't need ML's, a few can use it though.

The train with the PL42AC isn't bound for New York. Only electric trains can go to New York, the PL42AC is a diesel locomotive.

well, they change at LB for the NY part of the trip

NJT offers diesel service from Newark ,Penn Station to Bay Head. You are correct that electric service runs to NYC. You need to chill out.

I'm not angry or hype to begin with. The point is that NJT offers service from Hoboken to Bay Head with diesel locomotives.
Look at the NJCL schedule on NJT's website and look for the 23xx trains.

No worries.

Wow! One of the last intact Comet III sets(minus the cab of course)! And a multi-level west of Long Branch! Awesome!
